Summary: I fish in salt water a lot and hang this little camera on the throttle housing. I can say it takes a beating from the salt water spray and the pounding of the boat through the waves. The quality is not the greatest but for what most of us fishermen and hunters is does great. Here is a little movie I took of my grandson on Mosquito Lagoon, FL http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Summary: I purchaced this camera less than a year ago, took it on vacation and got several good snorkling pictures. Picture quality was good, worked well. I ran out of battery life on the snorkling trips but took several hunderd pictures so more battery would have been nice but it was reasonable. I went on another vacation and went snorkling again, got several shots then the camera stopped working. Would not power on, may have been a leaking issue.
Summary: I read a lot of reviews that said the picture quality was very grainy and white washed. I bought one anyway and my first pictures were very bad. I tried changing the setting and found this camera takes really good pictures. I use mine mostly outside and use the appropriate setting and really like the photos. Interior pictures are pretty good as well. If you leave the camera on iPhoto setting you get below average pictures. I have had my camera for roughly one year.
Summary: I took this camera on a field biology expedition to Costa Rica. I admit I didn't really use it for underwater photography, because visibility is crummy in the Pacific side of CR. However, I was looking for something that would be ok through rain, sweat, mud, and other harsh conditions. This camera did not disappoint on that front. It got dropped in the ocean while unpacking the boats. It got rained on often.
Summary: I purchased this for my Daughter's 7th birthday and she loves it. I like it too so far, meeting all her needs and more. It feels quality, is easy to use, has a large viewfinder and she wanted waterproof - haven't used that feature yet but am looking forward to it.
Summary: Haven't had it long enough to really know yet. The only thing's I don't like so far are, there is no sound from videos until you plug it into the tv and no view finder. I have an older Olympus and love it, so I expect to be happy with this one. I also purchased one for my husband last year and he loves it. I think they are great cameras.
Pros: Easy To Use, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Nice Body Color, Small / Compact
Summary: So I bought this camera after I already have a nikon d3000. I surf daily and decided to check this thing out. What your paying is a deal thy definatly worth it. I take a wave, thn on the way swimming back take shots of other people getting barreled! Pic quality is good enough. The only thing that I suggest is if you decide to get it, when using in water buy the glass cleaner rain-x to clean the front lens so not as much water spots slow you down.
Summary: This camera was recently released by Olympus, takes great pictures both as an underwater camera and a point-and-shoot, can pass for a normal point-and-shoot, and has a metal casing. The only reason for its low $100 average selling price is because it uses xD pictures cards. Olympus has now moved on to using SD cards instead. The max size of the Olympus xD card is 2gb. You could get an xD to micro sd adapter and bump up the storage space to 4gb.
