Summary: Do NOT buy this camera if you are planning on taking it underwater. I had one previously, the first day I used it I set it on the first step of my pool (6" of water) and it stopped working. That said, I did buy another for kayaking and it works ok, but it's never taken the plunge. Ok, I'm now 0 for 2 with this camera. I took the second one snorkeling with no intention of taking it below the surface. I wasn't in the water 10 seconds before it flooded.
Summary: Worked for one day , after one day of usage camera died , tried every single reset possible with no luck... I will never buy an olympus product again, support was crappy as well. Don't count on this camera for underwater fun...

Summary: i also carried this camera in costa rica, and i have to say, i dont have any of the problems the low rating reviewers have except for, after 6 months use, battery only holding charge for less than an hour. so im on here shopping for a new battery. wondering if the newer batteries are compatable.
Summary: My son and I both bought Olympus so called waterproof cameras and both leaked within the first year. Mine started working again once it dried out so I cleaned the seals and went on holiday to Cuba. During the trip it leaked again and now it is dead. Google these cameras and you will see everyone is having problems with leaking. Junk, do not waste your money.
Summary: Frankly, this is just a bad camera. The images on "land" are very poor quality and never very good, the controls and settings are hard to use, and the camera is completely unpredictable. To top off the poor photo quality and all, I can't even use a normal USB cable to upload pictures. Now I have to go buy another cable because I lost mine and have no way to get the pictures on my laptop, unless I find a card reader that takes this type of card.
Summary: I ordered two of these for ourselves and some friends before we went to Mexico on a snorkeling and diving trip. Both were pieces of junk. The door to get into the battery/memory card area are impossible to open. We had to use a screwdriver to get it open and do that to many times and it will likely never close or never open again. They both leaked. One didn't hold a charge. When they did work, they took decent pictures. But they both failed as underwater cameras.
