Excerpt: The combination of size, aperture and zoom range make this an outstanding value. Combine this with quality build and feel, the Stylus 1 is a winner. Half the size of the Sony RX-10 and 1/3 the size of the Panasonic FZ1000, and less expensive to boot. All day long. This for travel and events, with my D7000 for more serious work, I'm totally covered with quality equipment and results.
Pros: Good in Low Light, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
Olympus did an excellent job with design and engineering of the stylus 1

Summary: Olympus did an excellent job with design and engineering of the stylus 1, such a sharp fast lens on such a little camera body, fits it between longer zoom bridge cameras, and the little compacts like the RX100. It's hard to compare it directly with some of the other point-and-shoot cameras trending these days; the Olympus Stylus 1 really has it's own niche.
Excerpt: This is a great, solidly built camera. The first pictures were much sharper than any from my prior Stylus cameras, and the speed with which the camera goes from off to shot taken is remarkable! The viewfinder is one of the best features, because I can never see screens on digital cameras or phone cameras in daylight . . . Finally I can actually frame a shot with certainty. The programable options are very versatile and so far seem to work as intended.
Summary: I am photo hobbiest and have had numerous cameras over the years. Before purchasing the Olympus Stylus 1, I relied on a Canon DSLR Rebel XSi with several lenses for general use, and a Nikon Coolpix S9700 for travel. Both are excellent cameras; however, there are times when I don't want to lug around the bulky Canon, and the Nikon, though wonderful for traveling, lacks a viewfinder which I miss. So I went with a bridge camera...the Stylus 1.
Summary: Great camera! It is well-built, capable, and frankly speaking, just plain fun! The bottom line is, I bring the Stylus 1 with me far more often than my Panasonic FZ200 or Sony RX100. Enthusiasts and travelers wanting a versatile zoom range in a relatively small form factor will be very pleased with the Stylus 1. It is beautifully crafted camera with a wide range of Auto and Manual exposure modes to suit all skill levels.
Summary: Olympus Stylus 1 pros and cons PROS: -Extremely responsive autofocus in all conditions -Great battery life -Very good image quality (but noise performance is consistent with other cameras with the relatively small 1/1.7" sensor) -Fairly decent lens optical quality given its range (though a little soft at telephoto - but this is not unusual for a lens of this type) -Image stabilization works well -Touch AF works well -Nice EVF - even in low light -Two zoom levers -Very...
This camera has been love at the first shooting session

Summary: This camera has been love at the first shooting session. It has surpassed my expectations. I wanted a camera with long reach, with a fast lens for low light photos, not large in size but making quality photos. I am happy with the results. I much hesitated, comparing it to the new Lumix DMC-1000, but in the end the size and weight made me decide for the Stylus 1. I am happy with my decision The camera is small and light, but feels very well in the hand.
