Nice upgrade from prior Stylus

Stylus 1 owner, B&H Photo
1 January 2015
  • Excerpt: This is a great, solidly built camera. The first pictures were much sharper than any from my prior Stylus cameras, and the speed with which the camera goes from off to shot taken is remarkable! The viewfinder is one of the best features, because I can never see screens on digital cameras or phone cameras in daylight . . . Finally I can actually frame a shot with certainty. The programable options are very versatile and so far seem to work as intended.

Excellent Camera

RM, Amazon
28 December 2014
  • Summary: I am photo hobbiest and have had numerous cameras over the years. Before purchasing the Olympus Stylus 1, I relied on a Canon DSLR Rebel XSi with several lenses for general use, and a Nikon Coolpix S9700 for travel. Both are excellent cameras; however, there are times when I don't want to lug around the bulky Canon, and the Nikon, though wonderful for traveling, lacks a viewfinder which I miss. So I went with a bridge camera...the Stylus 1.

Great camera. Very solid!

DavidCayuga, Amazon
1 December 2014
  • Summary: Great camera! It is well-built, capable, and frankly speaking, just plain fun! The bottom line is, I bring the Stylus 1 with me far more often than my Panasonic FZ200 or Sony RX100. Enthusiasts and travelers wanting a versatile zoom range in a relatively small form factor will be very pleased with the Stylus 1. It is beautifully crafted camera with a wide range of Auto and Manual exposure modes to suit all skill levels.

Just a great camera overall

S. Vogt, Amazon
26 November 2014
  • Summary: Olympus Stylus 1 pros and cons PROS: -Extremely responsive autofocus in all conditions -Great battery life -Very good image quality (but noise performance is consistent with other cameras with the relatively small 1/1.7" sensor) -Fairly decent lens optical quality given its range (though a little soft at telephoto - but this is not unusual for a lens of this type) -Image stabilization works well -Touch AF works well -Nice EVF - even in low light -Two zoom levers -Very...

Excellent camera, poor wifi feature

  • Summary: This camera garnished wonderful reviews yet seems to be flying below the radar. It has been a joy to use, and to learn how to use better. The zoom would be better if it were of a higher magnification. 10.7 really is OK but not great. However, the constant f2.8 aperture means it takes great photos in relatively low light in full zoom mode. Also, the thing weighs less than a pound. Absolutely love that automatic lens cover when the cameras is off.

This camera has been love at the first shooting session

Global Traveller, Amazon
11 October 2014
  • Summary: This camera has been love at the first shooting session. It has surpassed my expectations. I wanted a camera with long reach, with a fast lens for low light photos, not large in size but making quality photos. I am happy with the results. I much hesitated, comparing it to the new Lumix DMC-1000, but in the end the size and weight made me decide for the Stylus 1. I am happy with my decision The camera is small and light, but feels very well in the hand.

Amazing all-in-one camera for the enthusiast photographer

mrcelloboy, Ebay

  • Summary: Amazing combination of features and quality. I'm an ex=professional, and this replaces a full-sized Nikon SLR. Olympus has a way of combining great features that the "majors" ignore.

And now with the stylus 1 being a super zoom with a constant 2

Matthew, Amazon
5 October 2014
  • Summary: I received my bundle just the other day and was impressed with what the kit consisted of. I knew that the price of the camera alone was around $650, so when I saw the bundle, it was a no brainer. The extra items alone would have cost me another 70+. Now I have been a fan of the olympus mirrorless cameras since they released the EPL-1. The size, weight, and variability of these interchangeable lens cameras blew me away. I still use my EPL-1 to this day.

The perfect camera for my needs.

shooterjim "rlcjim", Amazon
30 September 2014
  • Summary: I wanted a full function high quality digital camera without stepping into the hassles of interchangeable lenses, etc., associated with SLR's. The Stylus 1 fits the bill perfectly. This is my 3rd Olympus camera, one 35mm film and two digitals, and I am sold on their quality. The accessories that come in this kit can get a novice up and running in no time, and I've found them all to be of good quality. I especially like the 10X true optical zoom.
