Almost...

  • Summary: You get what you pay for, and at this price something has to give. It's a nice little camera, but the sensor quality is a weak spot. Poor low-light performance, poor image stabilization even in bright sunlight at max zoom.

  • Summary: I have owned 2 Olympus cameras prior to this one and loved them both, so I specifically bought this one because it was an Olympus camera. It takes beautiful shots of still objects, but once there is motion you have about a 50/50 chance of getting clear shots. The zoom is fantastic, but you'd have to have the camera mounted in order to get clear shots at maximum zoom.

Great photos. Easy to use. BUT...

  • Summary: I bought this camera on a recommendation from a friend who thoroughly researched my need for an easy-to-use camera that would take great pictures of my trip to East Africa. While I loved the ease of use and had fun with the special features it offers (the "dramatic" filter created some fantastic photos!), I have issues with the battery life on this camera.

Not what I expected

  • Summary: I am an amateur nature/wildlife photographer, and I go out on hikes....sometimes long hikes. My previous camera is an Olympus SP-800UZ which is powered by a re-chargeable ion battery (cell phone type). I bought two spares that fit easily into my pants pocket, and could be gone all day taking pictures and never worry about dead batteries. I love that camera....so when Olympus came out with this one I was soo excited, only to be disappointed.

Not for me, this one

  • Summary: Bare in mind here I am a real novice, but... I have mixed feelings about this camera. It came pretty highly recommended going by online reviews and the opinion of the guy in my local camera shop, and I love its look and feel (although it does feel a little on the cheap side when it comes to build quality). The zoom is fantastic.

A downgrade from its predecessor

Hilary, Amazon
23 February 2014
  • Summary: I bought this camera to replace my Olympus SP800UZ which got damaged after being used hundreds of times. This camera is similar but there are some differences. The camera starts up quicker, which is a plus. Hopefully I won't lose so many 'moments' while the camera starts up. The camera was cheaper than the previous camera, which I suppose is a plus, though I would rather pay for quality and robustness. Unfortunately, there are more minuses than pluses.

Good prioduct

  • Summary: For the price I paid it is a good product. Picture quality is good , however with 40 X zoom picture really becomes blurr even if you move camera little bit. Some functions are funny as compared with other camera's in market but some are really good. Easy to operate and use . I am satisfied with this product so far.

Nice looking and good to hold

  • Summary: Battery consists of 4 AA batteries and battery life is very short. Camera does not have Trimming facility so you have got to get your shot right at at first go.
