Summary: overall, this is not a good product and you should not be putting your hard-earned cash into it.
Pros: Light weight and easy to carry., Good for bright light photography. Think hikes on a sunny day and beach.
Cons: Impossible to shoot any other kind of shot., Bird shots are highly inefficient since the sensor takes forever to shoot, by which time your birdie has flown., Low light shooting is impossible. Keep your camera switched off if you want to shoot in low light.
Summary: I've had this camera while. I've played with the panoramic feature which is cool and works ever so neat. I mainly use it for point and shoot pics, which this camera is overkill for, but it takes those so great.
Summary: Received this camera as a gift and have had trouble with it from day one. It has a lot of nifty settings, but if you just want a simple point and shoot camera and don't want the hassle of figuring out how to operate it, pass on the Olympus SP 800uz.
Summary: This camera is a different bird , it has limited aperture and sutter settings but the ones that come Auto do the job I think . I just got it but I put through alot of test , It's a qaulity product and some settings get me the very truest color reproduction that I've ever seem .
Summary: I read the many reviews here on Amazon, and having found a great price, I bought one. Wish I had saved my money. Yes, it does have a long range zoom, but for me, the camera is hard to hold and shakes.
Excerpt: I have had my SP800UZ for about two years. I posted comments when I first got it. Was dissapointed then and still am. Admittedly it is chuck full of techo wonders but falls down in areas for actual use. lacking an eye level viewer is a big deficit in my opinion.
Summary: I kid you not when I say I had six $300 - $400 cameras in a 2 week period, and sent them all back except this one!! I've had several brands, several zoom-capabilities, several different kinds of features, etc.
Summary: This Olympus point and shoot looks good and handles well. It has a multitude of options with which I am still becoming familiar. The picture quality in comparison with a Lumix is superior with roughly the same pixels.
Summary: Purchased this camera after having bought, and subsequently returned, a Nikon that we were not pleased with. We'd previously had an Olympus that was accidently dropped. It was several years old and would have been prohibitively expensive to repair.
What a GREAT CAMERA !! Totally exceeded my expectations!

Summary: I had been wanting a new camera for awhile. I love taking nature pic's, along with candid family pic's , but nature is my favorite. With all the settings on the camera there is no way you can miss your shot ! The pic's are so crisp and clear, even if zoomed to maximum .
