Photography Review

  • Summary: overall, this is not a good product and you should not be putting your hard-earned cash into it.
  • Pros: Light weight and easy to carry., Good for bright light photography. Think hikes on a sunny day and beach.
  • Cons: Impossible to shoot any other kind of shot., Bird shots are highly inefficient since the sensor takes forever to shoot, by which time your birdie has flown., Low light shooting is impossible. Keep your camera switched off if you want to shoot in low light.

Great camera.

  • Summary: I've had this camera while. I've played with the panoramic feature which is cool and works ever so neat. I mainly use it for point and shoot pics, which this camera is overkill for, but it takes those so great.

I would recommend for getting those far away shots that you normally clear

dwanray, Ebay

  • Summary: I'm still getting used to the settings but overall is really liking that I can take closer pictures than they appear. I love photography so I'm always looking for better and better photo clarity for the money. So far this is a good camera and would recommend it.

Not user-friendly

  • Summary: Received this camera as a gift and have had trouble with it from day one. It has a lot of nifty settings, but if you just want a simple point and shoot camera and don't want the hassle of figuring out how to operate it, pass on the Olympus SP 800uz. There is no guarantee the picture taken will look even remotely like what is photographed. Not that it isn't slightly different, it is radically different - with a yellow cast to it.

  • Summary: This camera is a different bird , it has limited aperture and sutter settings but the ones that come Auto do the job I think . I just got it but I put through alot of test , It's a qaulity product and some settings get me the very truest color reproduction that I've ever seem . This camera is for a patient person , and good for people who like point and shoot cameras, set on Auto it gives some good pics , other settings limit or hender the zoom but the incadesent light...

Best camera for the money.

ed591942, Ebay

  • Summary: This is the best camera I have owned by far. The 30x optical zoom is a bonus. What I like personally is the sharp pictures this camera captures when zooming in on a subject. You can buy a more expensive camera and you still wouldn't get all the bells and whistles that this camera has. For the money, this camera can't be best. I highly recommend this camera to anyone.

Don't like it, waste of money.

Booklover Karen "KarenCC", Amazon

  • Summary: I read the many reviews here on Amazon, and having found a great price, I bought one. Wish I had saved my money. Yes, it does have a long range zoom, but for me, the camera is hard to hold and shakes. My 12 year old had a little better luck with the zoom, but admitted she was tired of getting too many bad shots. I have owned a Panasonic/Lumix for years and love it! I have had alot of compliments on the quality of my photos, I do not see the quality with the Olympus.

  • Summary: Had a Sony prior to this Olympus. And have less gadgets, less confusion. Simple and to the point. And wonderful picture outcome! Easy to use, and learn. Crisp, clean, and clear.
