Summary: overall, this is not a good product and you should not be putting your hard-earned cash into it.
Pros: Light weight and easy to carry., Good for bright light photography. Think hikes on a sunny day and beach.
Cons: Impossible to shoot any other kind of shot., Bird shots are highly inefficient since the sensor takes forever to shoot, by which time your birdie has flown., Low light shooting is impossible. Keep your camera switched off if you want to shoot in low light.
I would recommend for getting those far away shots that you normally clear

Summary: I'm still getting used to the settings but overall is really liking that I can take closer pictures than they appear. I love photography so I'm always looking for better and better photo clarity for the money. So far this is a good camera and would recommend it.
Summary: This is the best camera I have owned by far. The 30x optical zoom is a bonus. What I like personally is the sharp pictures this camera captures when zooming in on a subject. You can buy a more expensive camera and you still wouldn't get all the bells and whistles that this camera has. For the money, this camera can't be best. I highly recommend this camera to anyone.
Excerpt: I have had my SP800UZ for about two years. I posted comments when I first got it. Was dissapointed then and still am. Admittedly it is chuck full of techo wonders but falls down in areas for actual use. lacking an eye level viewer is a big deficit in my opinion. The close up is not really much of a close up. Approaches macro but not quite. It will not focus at really close ranges.
Summary: Camera is light, great price and has great internal memory size. The zoom is especially great but I highly recommend getting a tripod for more stability. Also, don't use zoom if your planning on taking video because it's really discolored.
Awesome Camera!!! Great value, would definately repurchase if needed

Summary: Great camera for price if you can't afford dslr then this IS the way to go!!! have had mine two years and love it. does have poor battery life however what camera doesn't when using 14 mp? buy extra battery and your set or bring charger with you on trips. Till I can afford a professional dslr then I am very happy with this camera more than any I have ever owned!!! If you think has poor blur when you turn on all you do is change to different menu picture setting.
