Summary: I bought this camera from Cameta. Around the 1 year mark (just out of warranty), it just stopped working. When I put the battery in, the screen automatically turns on (backlit) and doesn't display anything. I am unable to do anything (no buttons or settings work or even make any noise).
Summary: My camera just stopped working, out of the blue, after 6 months. Cameta says they extend the Olympus warranty to cover 1 year. This is not true. The Olympus warranty is worldwide but Cameta only will help you if you are in the us.
Summary: Olympus PEN E-PL2 12.3 MP Digital Camera from Adorama. This is a picture of the PEN E-PL1. And they show the original 40-150mm lens. Additional images show the PEN E-PL2 and the newer 40-150mm M.Zuiko lens. Which camera and lens is being sold here?
Summary: We bought the red version of this & this same review is posted there-wanted to make sure we warn as many people as possible. We purchased the EPL-2 at the end of February 2011 as it was coming out (it arrived beginning of March).
Summary: We purchased the EPL-2 at the end of February 2011 as it was coming out (it arrived beginning of March). We were so excited to try the Digital/SLR camera and take some great photos of our two little boys.
Summary: I used my camera to take pictures at meetings. It had a boring life, and a remarkably short one, too. When a plastic ring in the lens got dislodged, making it impossible to extend, I sent it to Olympus for a repair.
Summary: Very unreliable. I had the camera less than 18 months and it quit working. I really used it very little because my new smart phone takes decent pictures. Olympus wants over $100 just to examine it. I did not abuse this camera at all. It looks brand new - it practically is brand new.
