Summary: Good entry-level micro 4/3 camera for photo shooters. Not so great for video at least if editing on mac. Lots of possibilities available if you delve patiently into the menu to set it up for easy shooting. Nice to have access to a great choice of lenses from Olympus and Panasonic. Obviously there are now many newer cameras from both companies which have higher resolution sensors, faster auto-focus, etc but this camera does the job very well.
Excerpt: When pair with Lumix 20mm, this was my go to camera all the time. Love the IQ. Problems: Slow AF with kit lens. With Lumix 20mm, it helped but the AF still hunts when shooting in a dim situation.
Excerpt: When i use my pl1 many many times i missed focus. I have many blur photos because of this. Body+lens size a littlebit big. It's looks like almost normal d-slr. Generally camera slow working. I thinking cpu unit is not enaught.
Summary: I use this camera strickly with legacy lenses and I am very pleased with the results, the camera produces good colors and is easy to use. The only negative is difficulty focusing with the screen with some lenses, mostly zooms.
Great camera for most of the situations but not at high ISO

Summary: Great compact size is very convenient for traveling, and the fact it is a DSLR-like camera with the interchangeable lens with manual adjustment makes it very appealing. Auto focus of this camera is amazing and intelligent, and it produces super clear focused photo even from a car that is driving at 75 miles/hr. Takes fabulous day and night photos when there's some light source.
Excerpt: My review is based on Kit Lens only! Pros: -Small, handy body size, solid in hand. -Good picture quality in good light, at par to Nikon D5100. -Low price, about US$399. -Good sharpness kit lens. Personal oppinion to whom may concern:- If you are considering to buy an entry lever DSLR or this EPL-1 , i personally advice you to go direct to DSLR!
Summary: I ordered this for my dad who has wanted one for a long time. We found it cheaper on here so with a little help we ordered it to Ireland. When it arrived the postman charged me an extra 93 euro in customs tax, making it much more expensive than if we had bought it in the local shop. Therefore I would be very careful about buying this sort of thing to be delivered to another country.
Summary: I really like the look and feel of this camera. The price has recently dropped too so it is really good value for money!!! Picture quality is excellent and it is nice not to have to carry a DSLR around too. The only bad thing I have to say about this camera is that the auto focus is very slow. You get use to it but if you are use to using a proper DSLR, you will find it annoying at first.
Summary: I bought this for a better low light experience than my Canon G11. So I traded. I am a bit of an Olympus fan having owned a 5060WZ since 2005 (very good camera, but the images are a bit noisy and it's only 5mp, the colours, focus and exposure are absolutely excellent). The E-PL1 is easy to use, easy to change settings, reasonably compact. The video is good quality. There is a lot to like. Tried it with a Panasonic 45-200 lens, worked very well, it's a great zoom.
