This is one fine camera

  • Excerpt: I have been a Canon user for a decade or so, most recently with a Rebel t3i. I agonized over the decision to get the Olympus instead of another Canon. But Canon was just losing my interest/respect for various reasons, so voila. With the 12-40 2.8 Pro this is my dream camera. Small, light, and better in all respects than the Canon. The menu is vast and a bit hairy at first, but I've got it now and all is well. Much customizing is possible.I shoot RAW and use Lightroom.
  • Pros: Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact

Excellent Camera, Even for a Full-Frame Veteran

  • Summary: I got tired of lugging my pro-grade Canon gear around to take photos, especially on recreational outdoor excursions. I wanted a compact camera solution, but I was hesitant to move away from a full-frame sensor and L lenses; I spent a lot of time researching different options and form factors.

  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD

  • Excerpt: I have been using this camera for about 2 months and love it. I have been shooting professionally for 15 years and have been a Nikon user for 20+ years. I bought this camera as a light weight but high quality walk around camera but have learned it is much more than that. Recently returned from 3 weeks of shooting in Alaska and have been shooting fall color for the past 2 weeks around the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • Pros: Good in Low Light, Great ergonomics, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact

Nice camera

  • Excerpt: The EM-1 is a very nice camera, but not a significant upgrade in image quality from the EM-5 model which I have. If you don't have a mirrorless m4/3 camera, this would be a great choice. I returned mine due to the first point I listed.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Small / Compact

Outstanding image quality, most powerful while easy to use! Love it!

  • Summary: I previously owned a Panasonic DMC-G5 and a DMC-GH3. I was reading reviews that this Olympus camera had the best image quality in the Micro Four Thirds world but I was hesitating to move to that one. And this was mainly to the reviews that it was a bit complex to use etc. This camera not only has outstanding image quality, not only has capabilities and adjustments that were not present on the Panasonic models, but IT IS EXTREMELY EASY TO USE WHILE IT IS ALSO EXTREMELY...

Love the OM_D E=M1

  • Excerpt: I traded my Canon Gear which I love for the Olympus M-1. It is definitely an extension of myself. I find myself taking more photos and having more fun. It is professional on every level - fit & finish are 1st class - the components of the camera, meter, focusing, etc help me produce great photos.I highly recommend this camera for those who love photography and want the camera to be an extension of themselves.Only downside is the flash cover is easy to lose.
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good in Low Light, Great Resolution, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
  • Cons: Short Battery Life

Love this camera.

  • Summary: I bought the EM-5 when it came out and after an initial struggle to learn the menu system (I actually had to break form and do some reading) I grew to love Olympus cameras. Now I have the EM-1 and I am double dipping. I absolutely love the interface. I shoot a lot in Manual and I find the two dials + the two function switch brings this interface into the Pro camera realm. Great controls, many added features, a pretty quiet shutter, superb EV and touch screen.

Terrific product and a bargain if purchase like I did (Ebay from Hong Kong

  • Summary: I own and use the Olympus OM-D EM-5 as well as the Olympus EP-5 cameras (as well as other digital cameras) which are wonderful instruments. This new OM-D EM-1 is even better! Wonderfully built, solid but compact and light for a pro quality camera, I also purchased the optional battery pack because I like to have the back up in the camera. It makes the camera even better. The 12-40mm f2.8 Pro lens is totally awesome!
