Excerpt: Great when it works, but I got bit by the 'rear wheel' not working issue - just Google it. Very aggravating for a supposedly pro grade camera. The EVF glass cover on my E-M5 cracked without warning or cause. Whats going on? Dumb stuff.
Excerpt: The in camera optical stabilization works very well and the electronic viewfinder helps as one can shoot while holding the camera with both hands and not having to use one hand to point to the subject for focus.
Pros: Easy to Use, Great Resolution, Small / Compact
Cons: No Bluetooth To Gps, No Internal Gps, Poor Menu Structure, Short Battery Life
Summary: I can't figure out if this pair of camera and lens comes with an Olympus warranty that can be enforced in the US. I asked Olympus USA and here's what they said (I comment within and continue after): "Since April 1, 2004, all digital cameras and accessories sold by Olympus Imaging Corporation have...
Summary: Olympus says they don't offer an International Warranty. How are you able to force them to provide one? Are you selling old versions? Their announcement: Notice of Termination of Worldwide Warranty for Olympus Digital Cameras and Accessories Since April 1, 2004, all digital cameras and accessories...
Excerpt: Very nice MFT camera for photos. The built in image stabilizer is amazing. But sadly the video capabilities are far behind all the other major brands of cameras. With better video capabilities and the built in image stabilizer this camera would get 5 stars from me.
Pros: Easy to Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Battery Life, Great Resolution, Large Clear LCD, Small / Compact
Excerpt: This is a complicated camera and the manual is not very helpful. But maybe I overbought and this model is for professionals and very advanced users only. I should have checked the weight because it is 75% as heavy as my Nikon D7100 with a comparable lens (12-24mm).
Summary: I purchased the E-M1 as an upgrade to my E-M5, true the specs are great, I am amazed so much could be built into this little camera. With the 12-40mm lens the pictures are just as good if not better than cameras selling twice as much.
Excerpt: I have used this camera with a variety of expensive lenses on a trip to New Orleans, to the Rose Parade in Pasadena, and on a wildlife photography trip to Costa Rica. I have taken about 3,000 images. In general the images are sharp and well exposed.
Pros: Excellent Image Stabiliaz, Great Resolution, Sharp images, Small / Compact
Summary: This is a real good landscape camera, but the the telephoto lenses that I have tried are real soft, unless there is bright sunlight. I have the 14-150mm and the 75-300mm, if it is cloudy forget it, very soft. Olympus needs a 300mm f4.0 for a good price.
