Summary: i must say that the photo and video quality are very good but i am not satisfied with the scene selection speed, when it auto selects the scene and focus to program the shot, it's too slow (a second maybe) When you point to a movement shot it s an eternity. it's tough as said, strong case, silver finished. I used under water with no problem but i must say once i used in salt water, menu buttons began to loose their silver finishing turning into white.
Summary: This was my second one of these cause I loved them so much! BUT...we used this for snorkeling in the ocean and it completely rusted out the screen. We even let it soak in fresh water after each dive as suggested.
Summary: what I dislike: I had a hard time taking picture indoors, I tried every day for a while, I swear I was so frustrated I cried!!, it's HORRIBLE at this!! I tried adjusting a lot of things, flash, mode, sun position, my position, etc!, I even used a tripod because I thought maybe it was me moving.. I gave up on this... I finally gave up on the camera and tried selling it, but no one would buy it (I didn't try hard though..
Summary: Pro> its a tough camera which i carry into backwoods Alaska as well as to work in the Arctic. It takes good pics. I have not blown any pics up to large size. I didn't experience any of the connection port problems others have reported, i think those who did just don't know how to plug cords in carefully, they only fit one way. Con> It does as others have described have a lag in shutter speed.
Summary: This is a decent camera. Things I like ** This camera is a sturdy workhorse of a pocket point-and-shoot. ** I've enjoyed the internal panoramic-photo option, where the photo is taken and stitched together on the spot. (It's a little slow, but so long as you're not in a huge rush, it's all kinds of fun.) Things I don't like ** Operation is slow and shutter response are slow.
Summary: I own other Olympus Stylus cameras. As far as it being waterproof, freeze proof, tough, blah blah blah... yup all of that is true and it's a great camera. BUT the downloading of the pictures onto the computer is endless and when you download a video? I hope you have plenty of time... Watching the video you download is another issue. If and when you ever get to watch it, it will freeze up your computer and you have to start all over again.
Summary: If I had it to do again, I'd buy a lesser model underwater camera (ski, impact resistant) and use the extra $120 toward a good point and shoot. All in all it acts like an amazing 2.5 MP camera. The 14MP is too much for the lens I guess. Try and zoom in on a pic during editing and it's grainy. Olympus offered to inspect my brand new camera at a repair facility, but given other online reviews, I think this camera just takes mediocre pics.
