Summary: I bought this camera last year of August, but rarely use it. Up to now I used only three times, that is when I go with family for vacations. Last month the camera stopped working. Every time I turn on the camera, it turns on just a few seconds and then shutdown.
Summary: There's an awkward metal lens cover that pops up and down, uses battery, and stops working after a few months. I dropped the camera and the lens broke, so... it's not tough enough, not even much tougher than a regular camera. I wish I had saved the warranty.
Summary: I purchased 3 Olympus cameras in 2012 - my point in shoot was the 5th in a series of cameras that I dropped or left in my pocket and cracked the screen, etc. I purchased an upper end SLR-like Olympus for higher quality shots - 3 months from the date of purchase, the shutter button quit working - it...
Summary: I have/had an Olympus Stylus model 1050. It is poorly designed, requires annual maintenance, and takes a lousy picture. The worst design feature is the sliding lens cover. Upon sliding the cover down, the camera is on.

Summary: This camera has major problems with focus. I've purchased two waterproof Olympus products, this one and the prior model. The prior model had absolutely no focus issues. However, this camera, particularly when attempting to focus on objects far away, cannot focus.
Summary: I used this camera for the first time underwater. It was only about 1 foot underwater, which is much less than the max, and it is now ruined. It will not even turn on. I messaged the company and their only advice was that I should have replaced the waterproof seals.
Summary: Do not assume that I am biased or jaded, my score is based upon real-world usage of this camera. I own the Olympus Stylus 1030SW and have been very happy with its performance as a all-around point-and-shoot as well as an underwater camera, so I was thrilled to see the 8010 come out as the upgrade...
