Stop working after some uses

Summary: I bought this camera last year of August, but rarely use it. Up to now I used only three times, that is when I go with family for vacations. Last month the camera stopped working. Every time I turn on the camera, it turns on just a few seconds and then shutdown. I checked online but never see a solution for this. What should I do with it now but throwing to the gabbage?
Summary: There's an awkward metal lens cover that pops up and down, uses battery, and stops working after a few months. I dropped the camera and the lens broke, so... it's not tough enough, not even much tougher than a regular camera. I wish I had saved the warranty.
Summary: I purchased 3 Olympus cameras in 2012 - my point in shoot was the 5th in a series of cameras that I dropped or left in my pocket and cracked the screen, etc. I purchased an upper end SLR-like Olympus for higher quality shots - 3 months from the date of purchase, the shutter button quit working - it still takes fine video, but that's not the point of the camera.
Summary: I have/had an Olympus Stylus model 1050. It is poorly designed, requires annual maintenance, and takes a lousy picture. The worst design feature is the sliding lens cover. Upon sliding the cover down, the camera is on. The problem is, just putting the camera away in its case can cause an inadvertant dead battery. I can't count the number of times I've pulled out what should have been a fully charged camera, and found the cover open and the battery dead.
Summary: I returned my camera to Olympus to have the seals replaced (as recommended by the manufacturer) and now they say they won't replace the seals and they WON'T return the camera!!! I am FURIOUS - it seems the only reason is that the camera is an older model. If I had any idea they might keep my camera, I would have never sent it in!
Summary: I expected better results for the price. This camera is practically useless. Many pictures came out blurry even though I was holding the camera super still. The flash is worthless. It flashes so bright that it drowns out the picture. I took a close-up picture of a part in a dim area to get a model/serial number. The flash drowned out the entire picture where I couldn't even see the object - just white light!
Summary: This camera has major problems with focus. I've purchased two waterproof Olympus products, this one and the prior model. The prior model had absolutely no focus issues. However, this camera, particularly when attempting to focus on objects far away, cannot focus. I recently took it on a trip to Asia and lost about a quarter of my pictures because of this. Not at all worth the money.
Summary: I used this camera for the first time underwater. It was only about 1 foot underwater, which is much less than the max, and it is now ruined. It will not even turn on. I messaged the company and their only advice was that I should have replaced the waterproof seals. The camera also cracked the screen from dropping it 3 feet, which should not happen either. In addition, it takes an extremely long time to take pictures in dim light.
