My second Olympus
8 September 2011
Summary: So back in Nov 2010 i bought an Olympus Stylus 7010 12mp and a Sony dsc-w350 14mp with the idea of comparing the two and keeping the one i like (amazon prime is awesome). Hands down the olympus had sharper pictures so i kept that one and sent the sony back. Then in May my girlfriend broke my camera, i had a square trade warranty so no problem, got all my money back. This time same scenario but two new cameras.
Summary: I purchased this because my Kodak DX6490 is too large to fit in my pocket and too heavy to where on my neck for long periods. I wanted something small, light weight and took great pictures. I'm not sure if you can have both (small and takes great pictures). I guess my Kodak has spoiled me. The Stylus takes good pictures and has many features, but does not have the picture quality that my DX6490 has.
Summary: I've had my Olympus Stylus-9000 for a little over a year. Recently some smallish issues have compounded to make the camera basically unusable. First, the good stuff: I love the 10x optical zoom. When I bought the camera, there was really nothing that compared to that in it's price range. Outdoor and low-light, slow-speed pictures come out great. I never had any problems with battery life.
Summary: Loved the features the Olympus Stylus 9000 has. I really liked the 10x zoom, it's panoramic photos processed right in the camera, super macro mode and many others. Unfortunately, the one I would use the most was a hit-and-miss for taking good photos. In AUTO mode you really have no control on what the camera focuses on, thus causing many blurry images. It was not camera shake nor zooming that caused the blur.
Summary: I was recently coming from a Digital Canon Rebel 8.0 which was an SLR, so It shouldn't be something to compare this Olympus too, so I will try not to be biased. I have owned a lot of "Pocket" Digital cameras, mostly Canons. I bought this one based on the good reviews and a friend of mine had it and said it was great.
Summary: I bought this model in February after selling my Lumix TZ4. I really wanted a Canon SX200 IS but it was out of my pricerange.....I still wanted a great zoom and good macro so selected this-my first Olympus digi. Firstly I was disappointed because I always used the vivid setting on my Panasonic and therefore this one's colours looked very wishy-washy at first but I got used to it.
Summary: I have owned this camera for nearly a year now and have used it extensively. My previous was a Canon Ixus which I had for a very happy 6 years. In comparison with the old Canon, the user interface on the Olympus is quite frankly poor. It has too many odd buttons - why include a dial, a menu and a set of cursor keys? The on-board software looks like it was cobbled together on a wet Saturday afternoon by a committee of six who were not on speaking terms.

Summary: Easy to use, but as I use mainly for sports, doesnt always take a sharp picture, timing is important in the action shots & pictures tends to be v dark so need to add a lot of flash when on pc- unlike the previous less expensive Olympus I had! Also, can be so dark on screen that you can hardly see your subject - have tried all variations to try to improve, so far to no avail.......bit disappointed.
