Summary: I bought this camera for my 11 year old daughter-but we have all adopted it as our family camera. The biggest reason is the speed of this camera. Once you take a picture, there is no delay before the picture appears on the viewer and allows you to take another. After using this camera, all of the other (more expensive ones) won't do. I don't have the patience for any other camera anymore. So far, this has held up well to the abuse that an adolescent subjects it to.
Summary: I purchased this camera because my other Olympus was run over by a lawnmower. The camera fit my price range at the time, which was a very small budget, and provided me a way to have photos for my son's first trip to Disney. However, I think I got exactly what I paid for in purchasing this camera. The photos I get are often blurry. This may be due to the camera or because I never read the manual with it, I just went with factory settings.
Summary: I had a little automatic Canon for 6 years that was great...until it broke. I tried to buy something similar and this Olympus takes grainy pictures quite often. Not always, so I didn't realize I wanted to return it until it was too late to return. It is totally aggravating to see that I've caught a priceless shot...in grainy quality. DON'T BUY THIS LOUSY CAMERA! Unless poor quality photos don't bother you.
Summary: I had an Olympus FE600 and I LOVED it. Loved the construction and the ease of use. I fractured the screen and looked everywhere for a replacement. This model received great reviews, so I purchased it. It's a little more difficult to figure out (actually had to read ALL the instructions) and the casing is plastic so I'm not sure how sturdy it will be (the other camera went on a trip to war and several motorcycle trips. All-in-all, it's o.k.
Summary: The camera worked, I took some good pictures. Then when the battery died, I tried to charge it. I charged it and put it back in the camera but the camera still wouldn't work. It was too late to return the camera to Overstock because the battery really lasted a long time. Thinking maybe it was a defective battery, I ordered a new one. Still didn't work. The camera turned on, lens went in/out, then the camera turned off.
Summary: I gave this camera to my wife and she has become quite the photographer with it. We took it with us to Israel and we were so blown away by the quality of the pictures it took in Jerusalem, at the Dead Sea, at the Sea of Galilee, Masada, etc... Various backgrounds and lighting are no problem for this camera. I highly recommend it.
Summary: The Olympus is a very good camera but when I bought in April there was not one in the stores to look at. I was looking for a camera that took pictures quickly not having a 5 second delay after you push the button before it actually took the picture. I tried a Sony in the store and it was very fast. I like Olympus and thought it would be just as fast but it is not. That is the main reason for buying after having two small children. It takes great pic's.
