List All 5 PricesBuying a digital camera for under £120 is a risky business. While there are a few genuine bargains available, most of the available choices will be cheap plastic point-and-click devices with limited features, slow performance and inferior image quality. Even buying a camera from a respected brand such as Olympus is no guarantee of quality, as this frankly disappointing FE-4000 demonstrates. Read more
Untitled Document The svelte 0.9-inch thick body of the Olympus FE-4000 contains the combination of a 1/2.3"-type twelve megapixel CCD image sensor and an Olympus-branded 4x optical zoom lens which offers focal length equivalents from a generous 26mm wide angle to a 105mm telephoto. A 2.7-inch LCD display with 230,000 dot resolution offers the FE-4000's only option for framing and reviewing images, as there's no optical viewfinder on this model. Read more
Firstly, the camera works fantastic for casual users (ie people who, like me, bring a camera around on trips/outings etc to capture those moments). The 12 megapixels is more than sufficient for good enough picture quality to upload online, send to friends, even to print out for yourself to stick around the room. The functions are absolutely on-track, and if you use them as they are meant to be used, will turn out gorgeous photos. Read more
The Olympus FE-4000 is a lousy camera even by budget compact standards. Build quality, handling, performance and image quality are all terrible, and it doesn't even look particularly nice once it's been handled for five minutes. There are many better cameras for about the same price, and almost none that are worse. Read more
Needing a shirt-pocketable camera with a wide-angle zoom, this seemed a logical choice despite the many lackluster reviews. After a series of test shots covering most of the camera's features, with and without flash, it's becomes clear that Olympus fell down on the job here. There must have been no quality control on this model or else they just didn't care. I would rate the final picture quality beside that of a 1960s Kodak Instamatic. Read more
This camera came highly recommended, but I ended up returning it for another Canon. The pictures were fuzzy, and the colors were off. I expected more from Olympus. Read more
Olympus cameras USED to be excellent -- this was my fourth one, bought entirely on the basis of my previous experience. How wrong I was! The camera is slow to focus, and focuses inaccurately. It is GLACIALLY slow to take a picture -- you know, you push the button, and when an engineer in Japan decides it's time to take the picture, the camera clicks. Usually (but not always.) Maybe I had a lemon, but the macro capability was ...well, incapable. Read more
I usually do not products until I read the reviews. However since this is a relatively new product, there were no available reviews when I purchased this camera. Read more

I couldn't get a good picture from this camera. In order to push the shutter button past the auto-focus mode, you had to press really hard. I got shaky results almost every time - it was impossible to hold the camera still while forcibly pressing the button. Even the clear pictures had weird coloring. Would not recommend. Read more
I was bought this as a christmas present... A 12 mp camera should take better pictures than this I had a lovely 2.1 olympus camera and wanted to stick with olympus this time. However 2 months on I find indoor shots really need to be taken with as much natural light as possible. If I zoom ... on the optical or the digital zoom the pictures are really out of focus and really not worth having had taken them. Read more
