Summary: Pros: Fits in my pocket Large LCD screen Sells for well below retail price because it's got a major problem Cons: Poor images (this is the major problem that's backed up by other reviewers on the "black" version of this camera) Proprietary battery No speaker in camera for playback sound I've used Olympus in the past with impressive results, but this camera should be an embarrassment to the committee that decided to release it to the public.
Summary: I don't want to labor the points made by previous reviewers, but, the battery life is poor. The lack of sound on video is also an irritation. As someone else said, the picture quality isn't really that good; one shouldn't need to have the camera on the highest resolution possible to get just passable picture quality. Positives: Lightweight; compact; more than reasonable software bundle and easy to use. Good zoom and image stabilization. Easy to navigate menu.
Summary: The camera has a nice, sleek design but the quality of photos didn't seem "up to par" to me. I previously had an Olympus Fe-xxxx which I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, I dropped it on the floor a few times and it eventually broke (No warranty as I had it for over 2 years) So, thinking that the Olympus cameras had a good reputation, I bought the same camera--just a few models up-- and expected the camera to be just as nice..
