Back yard barbecue in daytime? Greats pics of your BFFs.
6 August 2012
Summary: I bought a used one a few years old. It is small, about the size of smart phone. Thin. Takes a great picture under good conditions, less good in poor light etc. It depletes the battery quickly but you can get a battery for this legacy camera for a couple of bucks. Short on features. Simple to use. If you are at a back yard barbecue in daytime you will be able to great quite good photos of your BFFs yadda yadda.
Summary: I purcashed the camera so I would have a camera in my purse at all times. I like the idea of getting a printed picture every now and then. The camera is just the right size and not complicated to use.
Summary: We bought 2 of the FE-280s; one for us and one as a gift for a non-camera user. This was perfect for the new user who learned to take pictures and video in no time. We already have another Olympus digital SLR and this camera takes comparitive quality shots. Our other camera is large and this one is good for times where a big camera is inconveninet. The shutter speed is a little slower, as is to be expected in a small camera, but we loved the video camera feature.
Summary: I've had this camera for well over a year now, and it's been all over the world with me, surviving through being dropped about a million times. Battery only gave up after 18 months or so, the body of the camera itself is now very scratched but that just serves as a reminder of how sturdy this thing is!
Summary: I previously had an Olympus I had bought when I lived in Japan and wanted to stay with the same brand as it was so good. My only reason for upgrade was to get a few more MegaPixels and have better quality photos. I took the Olympus on a trip to India and it didn't let down. I had to charge my battery once in a ten day trip of pretty much click click where I took over 1000 photos.
Summary: Got this as a pressie. Well pleased. Great camera - fantastic optics, as with all Olympus compacts & lots of really useful functions. Would swap most of them for center-weighted metering option. Shame. This one lack has spoiled many otherwise cracking pics.
Summary: This was bought for me as a Christmas gift. The battery on my old Acer Camera was loosing charge too quickly. As a replacement, the Olympus was shiny and very small in comparison. It took a little getting used to with all the features (maybe a few too many, I don't ever think I'll be using the majority of them) but leave the setting on auto and the Olympus is pretty clever at working out the right focus/lighting etc.
