Summary: I AM TOTALLY AMAZED WITH THIS CAMERA. UPON RECEIVING THIS CAMERA I CHARGED THE BATTERY, INSTALLED A MEMORY CARD AND TOOK IT TO MY DAUGHTER'S BABY SHOWER. THE PARTY ROOM WAS DIM-TO-DARK. DINNER WAS SERVED AND SMALL CHILDREN WERE CRAWLING AND RUNNING EVERYWHERE. I HAD NO CONFIDENCE IN MY ABILITY TO TAKE A DECENT PICTURE SO; I SET THE CAMERA TO AUTO AND STARTED TAKING PICTURES.
Summary: I am not going to break down this camera with the detail that has already been given. I have used other DSLRs and can say that this is a great camera for the money. The pictures are very crisp and clear especially if you use proper techniques (photography basics) Adjusting the settings took a little practice and a full battery to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it isn't overly complicated (read the manual before poking buttons).
Olympus EVOLT Evolt E-410 Kit with Zuiko Digital 14-42m
19 November 2010
Summary: The smallest 35mm SLR in the world that I know of. Bought for a friend for Christmas. Tested out camera with the 14-42mm lens and was rewarded with some quite sharp images. Very good color. Macro works great. Didn't use the telephoto zoom yet. The Four Thirds format is not recommended by Olympus for very large blow ups but 81/2 x 11 images should be very sharp. Viewed ACTUAL PIXELS of images in PhotoShop and looked very sharp.
Summary: Even though this is a slightly older model, it is a great starter dslr camera. I bought this last January as my first dslr camera. I chose it because it was 10mp unlike other starters which were fewer. It also had good ratings despite not being as popular as other brands. What sealed the deal was that it was lighter than a lot of other dslr cameras. I have not been disappointed. The pictures I have taken have turned out great using a variety of lenses.
Summary: I decided on an Olympus becuase my mom has one and I loved hers. This camera is easy to use and the features are really nice. I have taken hundred of pictures and the battery has not even needed to be charged. I am very happy with my choice and If I had to do it all over again, I would still choose the Olympus e-410. You cant go wrong with this camera.
Summary: PROS: Nice clean design, very small and lightweight, lens are exceptional for both far and close up shots, easy for beginners, flash is great, the manual and auto focus work good Quality of picture is perfect worth the buy for beginners and intermediate CONS: auto focus takes about a 3 seconds indoors to focus and shoot, take getting use to to find all the manual features
Summary: I have had my e410 for a few days now. I read some different reviews on it. All of them had nothing but good things to say about this camera. With in a day I knew what all the settings are and how to use it all manually. At first I was scared that there was too much. I picked up the manual and looked it over. The manual is Great. It explains every thing from what SLR stand for to focusing.
Summary: This camera cost around 400$ and is worth an 800$ camera easily. It can compete with the most of the best Nikon and Cannon SLR (without including the cazy cameras over 2000$) The quality is perfect, menu very optimized and complex, a Live view which is a really special feature for an SLR. Lithium battery which is a huge + for people that hate buying new batteries. Everything is just perfect, I love this camera and I am proud of it.
