Summary: I like this littl camera because of it,s retro look.It does resemble a rangefinder camera.I really can,t find anything to dislike about this product.I can use it as back up camera and the price ,I just couldn't pass up.I bought it w/o any lense, but not to worry,I had some lenses that were just collecting dust.I have been buying adapters to put them to good use. Those adapters work really great.I have'nt had any difficulty in metering, exposure,of course everything in...
This camera is a great camera and very durable and long lasting.

Excerpt: The olympus stylus 300 digital camera is a great little camera. I have had mine for almost 5 years and it has held up quiet well. However it is a earlier model and the mega pixels in zooming are not that great. I have taken some fatastic photos with it though and will continue to take photos with it even after I get a new one. The camera is easy to operate and is very simple to understand.
Excerpt: Got this model Refurbished 1 year and a half ago. Have used it regularly and has taken beautiful pictures. At 8 mb You can blow them up as large as you like and still look great. Camera is full of professional features and settings, But also has Factory pre-sets you can select for any type of location, so if your not a professional you can still get professional looking pictures.
I love the look of a Kodak CCD sensor. Awesome colors!

Summary: I love the kodak sensor on this camera. Images taken with a big CCD sensor have something special about them. I would try to get a E-410 or E-510 (they are better to work with) as far as image quality, if your a good photographer, people will think you have a $1000+ camera...its that good.
Summary: First let me say I am not the the best, or worst picture taker out there. I have used an Olympus C8080 for many years and I have gotten quite good with the above average point and shoot C8080. I have sold some of my work and I have not had anybody say negative things about my pictures. I have now stepped up my capabilities with the EVOLT E300 and my capabilities have vastly improved. I thank my professional photographer friends for reccomending this camera.
Summary: Excellent camera, good even tones, nice clear vivid colors especially with the software update from olympus website. Great lens too. A little on the heavy side but the neck strap does it's job to ease the weight. Would buy another one in a heart beat!!!!
Summary: I purchased this camera because it was an excellent deal, and found it to be a great backup to may E-500. When shooting at the kid's ball games I use a 14-45mm lens on the E300 and the 55-200mm on my E500. This keeps me from removing the lenses in the field and possibly getting trash in the body. I find 8 meg to be more than enough for me and with 2mb CF cards I have almost endless shots.
Excerpt: "It's a pity the E300 is no longer available, because I think it's a fantastic tool. I bought the E300 twin lens kit after my first digital camera, the discontinued Nikon Coolpix 4500 expired. Actually, that camera took some beautiful photographs and was incredibly versatile. It's only real fault was slow and somewhat unreliable autofocus. I guess I learned the basics of photography with it. The E300, however, was a real revalation: instant focusing, ...
Pros: Lovely images images, superb construction .
Cons: Less convenient than a compact . Auto - white balance and metering occassionally incorrect .
Summary: I love this camera, it just has the best feel to it, holding it and when taking photos, extremely sturdy, i've dropped this thing about 3 times from about a meter up and its fine, excellent quality images, only complaint is that if theres not enough light, its sucks ****, noisy blurry photos at night or inside without flash or good lighting, this camera is 4 years old and i prefer it over all my friends new high quality camera's, mainly because of the overall feel of it...
Summary: I have read everyone elses' reviews and I'm a little fathomed on how they can find the zoom to be an issue, I personally have never had that problem, the firework setting is a little annoying as the images seem as though there is double exposure.. and the flash when it comes to taking macro shots is poor. Otherwise the flash is excellent when taking other images. Regarding it being noisy, not at all!
