  • Excerpt: The olympus stylus 300 digital camera is a great little camera. I have had mine for almost 5 years and it has held up quiet well. However it is a earlier model and the mega pixels in zooming are not that great. I have taken some fatastic photos with it though and will continue to take photos with it even after I get a new one. The camera is easy to operate and is very simple  to understand.

Great camera for the new photographer

  • Excerpt: The Olympus EVOLT-300 was one of the first digital SLR's Olympus came out with. It has a fairly primitive white balance that requires the photographer to know something about white balance before taking good photos. Of course there is an "auto" setting for WB too. The camera is a great starter for the serious photographer. A good used E-300 would make a nice gift for a beginner.

  • Excerpt: Got this model Refurbished 1 year and a half ago. Have used it regularly and has taken beautiful pictures. At 8 mb You can blow them up as large as you like and still look great. Camera is full of professional features and settings, But also has Factory pre-sets you can select for any type of location, so if your not a professional you can still get professional looking pictures.

  • Excerpt: I've used my canera for Weddings, Partys, commercial photography, even Hot air balloon events and I've never had a problem with the camera it makes taking pictures easy.  It has special exposures for night, landscape, portraits, action and scenes.  I wouldn't be without it!  The newer camers may be great in megapixels but you can't beat the quality you get from this camera!

  • Excerpt: My husband loved this camera so much he bought two (he lost the first one).  When the lost camera turned up, we had two and when we replaced them with a newer model, we gave one to my sister (a high school student) and gave the other to my two year old daughter to use!  They both still work great after six years of (heavy) use!

Olympus EVOLT E-300 review by halfmac

  • Summary: I had a Digital Rebel and was very happy with it, I bought this camera as I needed a second camera for a trip. I liked it better. Sold the Rebel. The Colors out of the camera beats the competition. So do Jpegs if you like to shoot them over RAW. Higher resolution than the e-1. Not having to clean the image sensor. For an inexpesive camera it very well made and does not feel cheap or plasticy. The two kit lenses very well made.
  • Pros: The Colors, Small size, Dust Buster, tons of features, unconventional design.
  • Cons: No remote socket. High iso noise.

Olympus E-300: A camera for all occasions

  • Summary: This camera is one of the best buys I have ever made. With 8 million mega pixels it is the only camera you will ever need no matter what your photographic ability. The e-300 is at home taking high quality close up shots for my own website as well as taking every day pictures of my children and pets. Battery life is average but easy charged and spare batteries easilly availible for a very reasonable amount.
  • Pros: good picture quality
  • Cons: settings may confuse novice user

  • Excerpt: "It's a pity the E300 is no longer available, because I think it's a fantastic tool. I bought the E300 twin lens kit after my first digital camera, the discontinued Nikon Coolpix 4500 expired. Actually, that camera took some beautiful photographs and was incredibly versatile. It's only real fault was slow and somewhat unreliable autofocus. I guess I learned the basics of photography with it. The E300, however, was a real revalation: instant focusing, ...
  • Pros: Lovely images images, superb construction .

  • Excerpt: "...more expensive cameras. it comes with olympus master, as well as a cd manual. olympus master is relatavely good, but i recommend using picasa2, which is supplied free by google. the main reason i switched to picasa is because a few months into having the camera, for whatever reason, olympus master lost me 400-500 photos, which i wasnt very pleased about, so i got picasa, and havent had any problems with that as yet. all in all a great little ...
  • Pros: Compact and fun to use, compatable with OM lenses with adapter .

  • Summary: I love this camera, it just has the best feel to it, holding it and when taking photos, extremely sturdy, i've dropped this thing about 3 times from about a meter up and its fine, excellent quality images, only complaint is that if theres not enough light, its sucks ****, noisy blurry photos at night or inside without flash or good lighting, this camera is 4 years old and i prefer it over all my friends new high quality camera's, mainly because of the overall feel of it...
  • Pros: Excellent Feel, Excellent Quality, Unbreakable
  • Cons: Slow Shutter Speed, Blurry, Noisy Images in Low Light
