Professional DSLR for the price of an entry level DSLR. A real bargain.

cyang0887, Ebay
3 June 2012
  • Summary: What more can I say. Everything good about this camera has already been said by all the reviews over the years. It may only have 5MP but it makes good use of every megapixel. At today's asking price, its a bargain. Where else can you get a professional DSLR camera at the price of an entry level DSLR.

Great well built digital SLR!

bluemonday311, Ebay
25 March 2012
  • Summary: You have to hold one of these E-1's: they are build to last. Likes: build quality, colors, viewfinder. Even only 5MP, the picture quality is amazing. The size is smaller than your regular Nikon or Canon DSLR. Prices are going down, and if you want a good and reliable photographic tool, you are not goin to regret going with Oly E-1.

Love My E-1!

John P., Amazon
24 October 2011
  • Summary: The E-1 is an anomaly. It is outdated and archaic. Its LCD is primitive. It boasts a whopping 5 megapixel sensor that is currently outdone (number-wise) by cell-phone cameras. And yet, it is one of the greatest digital SLR's to ever roll off a production line. The E-1 has perfect ergonomics, feels like a "real" camera (no cheap plasticky Canikon vibe), and takes incredible pictures with a depth of realism that is hard to match. Before I bought my used E-1, I had an E-30.

  • Summary: The excellent camera, though also old model! Excellent matrix from the Kodak. Fits well in a hand. Very ergonomic design of the case. It is perfectly combined with a regular lens 14-54.

Great for the right price, for ~200 buy it right away!!!

fm_fondeur, Ebay
6 July 2011
  • Summary: Old old old equipment, very capable and weather proof. Using it as a backup for harsh conditions. I also own a E-30, and use the E-1 during rain or places were I wouldn't use the E-30. Hopefully I will be able to upgrade to the E-5, also weather sealed, within a year. Note that there is a very high chance your sensor will have some "specs" of dust. It is old, and most users have taken advantage that this is a weather proof equipment. Ask a lot before you buy.

Love my E1!

V. Morrison, Amazon
27 July 2010
  • Summary: Bought this camera used after reading all the good things about it and glad I did. It's mostly used as a back up, but once I start using it, it's hard to put it down. It's a pros camera (no presets) I love that it's simple and very easy to use. The picture quality is excellent. Ergonomics makes it one of the best cameras to hold. All the buttons are in the right place for quick access.

Surpassed my initial expectations

G. Cooper, Amazon
25 November 2006
  • Summary: We have been using the E1 for 15 months now and I can say we are very pleased. I love the sharpness of the lenses. Our company does commercial and portrait work and we are able to go to 30x40 sized prints and they are sharp, much sharper than 35mm and even some 645 neg's we used to use. Color rendition seems to be right on, bit on the warm side but very little. Most work is done with studio lights. All in all the camera preforms the way we want it to.
