Summary: When I was looking for cameras, all I wanted was a easy point-and-shoot. Nothing fancy. I bought this one because of the price. I wish I could return it! Problems: horrible battery life- lasts about an hour at the most when i went to hawaii, i had to put new batteries in every place i went.
Summary: I'm sorely disappointed in my purchase. I trust in amazon and I was swindled by aa-wholesale (Chaya Korn). I purchased from it an Olympus digital camera by Amazon on the 1st of June. I couldn't use the camera because the zoom was not properly working. I wrote aa-wholesale in order to see how we should handle this problem, and they wrote me that I send the camara back to them so I did it. The camera was returned by USPS on the 22nd of August.
If this camera were on sale, I might pay $40 for it - not a cent more.

Summary: A little over four years ago I bought another Olympus camera, a C-390. I was fairly happy with it. I even liked the Camedia software that came with it enough to buy the full version. It had it's pros and cons, but this is not a review of the C390. Why, may you ask, am I writing about an older camera in a review of the D540? Because in every aspect, except size, this camera is by far the inferior.
Summary: I've had this camera a couple of years now. Whatever batteries I use (currently 2600ma rehcargeables!) the life of the camera is appalling - not enough to take pictures through xmas day. The quality of the pictures are oj only if you can hold the camera and the subject perfectly still - this is no good for action shots or even taking snaps. I have to take about 10 pictures to get a good one. You could argue that maybe it's me, but others have tried and failed.
Summary: I found this camera to be quite bulky. The camera speed is very slow and by the time the picture has been taken, its too late. The lighting on the camera is ok. Although in bright light, the background of the picture comes out too bright. Also, it takes XD card, which are not widely used in computers and in some printers. A usb lead needs to be used to upload pictures. I will be selling this camera as soon as i can.
