  • Excerpt: The Olympus C-150 was a gift from my wife, about a year ago. It was my first digital camera. I am very satisfied with this camera and the pictures it takes. The menu and options are easy to understand and access. The software included enables you to do things like transfer images to a computer and view photographs on a television with the leads provided. Overall, an excellent camera for the beginner as well as for anyone who enjoys photography.

  • Excerpt: I use this camera for my photograph taking during parties, family gathering, travelling, and sight-seeing since 2003. This camera is compact, easy to take use, extremely portable, and do take quality pictures.

  • Excerpt: "...been very disappointing, back then Olympus was seen as being quite a prestigious brand. == Looks and handling == This is one of the many cameras Olympus made that incorporated the clever sliding lens cover cum power switch. Slide the cover open and the camera powers up; slide it back and it turns off. On cameras with an optical zoom lens, this design has the drawback of requiring the user to knock the side of the lens with the edge of the cover, ...
  • Pros: Easy to use, reliable, fits nicely in the hand, cheap to buy, reasonable sharpness and exposure
  • Cons: Overdone saturation of some colours, no optical zoom, flash is iffy, garish menus, a bit bulky

20 year old Kodak camera is better

  • Excerpt: "This is my first digital camera and I was very disappointed with it. It has such a delay when you click the button that whatever you are taking a photo of (either a dog or a baby in my case) has moved and the shot either has a baby's blurred hand waved in front of his face or a dog who has turned around and walked away. Considering I'm not a photography buff I felt this was a lot of money for me to spend and I'm now resorted to taking photos with ...
  • Pros: Digital is an advantage but nothing specificly good with this camera
  • Cons: Slow from button press to actual photo, battery life is poor etc .  .  .

  • Excerpt: "...hit or miss. I picked an OLYMPUS camera from the CAMEDIA range. This seemed like a good all in one choice for a first digital camera,as it had a flash plus 2 MEGA pixel's an XD memory card as well as having all the software for uploading and downloading pictures with out having to go to the shop and getting the needed cables, at the time of purchase I did buy a memory card reader though as I was told downloading the pictures straight from the camera ...
  • Pros: REMOVABLE XD - PICTURE CARD
  • Cons: EATS BATTERY FOR DINNER,ANOYEING WAIT BEFORE FLASH GOES OFF

  • Excerpt: "I got this as a birthday present so don't know how much it cost but I think it was a reasonable amount. The camera comes with all the software you need to browse and edit pictures. The picture quality is great, I've taken some excellent photos with it. I would say it is very durable- it's survived many drunken nights out with me and my friends! It can take small video clips as well as normal photos, has a self-timer, there are several different settings ...

A top camera - till it broke

  • Excerpt: "...it wa under warrenty with Olympus UK, they were probably the most organised group I've ever dealt with, I had to go on holiday while they had my camera so they gave me a C-150 (same as mine) for the trip, that one worked fine and was a relief that i didn't have to learn any new functions while on my hols! Within a week of my return they had upgraded my camera to a C-170 (which i haven't tried yet) for no fee whatsoever. I would recommend this ...

For Snapshots and Beyond Snapshots

  • Excerpt: "...Initially, I was bought the Olympus Camedia C150 as a gift where the brief was "just get something cheap with an LCD screen I can use for the Ebay stuff". The Camedia, I would soon discover, is far more versatile and I am on my way to taking more photos in the 6 months of ownership than I have ever taken on conventional cameras in my life. In the early days of digital cameras, you could tell the difference and film always looked better. This is ...
  • Pros: Can be used for snapshots or more advanced photos .  Easy to use
  • Cons: Eats batteries .  Software needs registering if you want extras
