Excerpt: I was unsure how to put more paragraphs in so here goes.... So… Why do you find me reviewing an old 1.3 mega pixel camera such as this? Well, I have one and have been using it for the past 4 years with only one niggle that I recently was able to overcome. I will get to that in a moment, but 1st, yes, this is an old camera, and yes there are mobile phones out there with more mega pixels, but most of those phones do NOT have an Olympus optical lens… Nor, do they have the...
Pros: Easy to use and cheap
Cons: VERY low resolution by today's standards . . .
Summary: I would never have thought of spending £400 on a digital camera 2 years ago, which is what the going price for my Olympus 830L was then. It came as part of a computer package from Tiny, and I was doubtful as to the use of this camera . Since learning to use it (Yes, it DOES help to spend half an hour with the instruction manual...!!!), I have hardly used conventional film at all.
Pros: Instant pictures, Cheap pictures provided most of your contacts are net users
Cons: Home Printed photos not as good as traditional ones, Sucks battery power
Summary: The ultimate in camera's must be a digital camera, And the Olympus Camedia C-830L has everything you need to take great photo's, It is missing one thing though, A FILM. Hurrah for that. No more waiting to see if that holiday snap turned out, or the picture of your loved one has there head still on there shoulders. Or just completely blank set of prints.
Summary: I recently got a great deal from PC World on a ex-demo of this camera, I was looking for something slightly cheaper than the retail price of this model but they knocked me £100 of the price which brought it into what I was looking for and boy am I glad they did this camera is superb. The LCD view finder is one of the crispest I have ever seen and the speed at which it saves the pictures is great. I like the way it uses Smart media cards rather than compact flash .
Summary: I got my Camedia free with a pc system, so I can't comment too much on the price. It is my first digital, and an excellent camera. This Olympus is very easy to use with a simple point and click system. It comes with an in built flash and useful finger guard to stop you from obscuring the lens and taking pictures of your thumb. 1.3 million pixels meant nothing to me, but it is certainly high enough resolution for my needs. There are three different quality levels.

Summary: Leicht verständliche Handhabung und gute Bilder zeichnen diese Kamera aus. Bei Nahaufnahmen können die Bilder allerdings schnell "verschwimmen", was vorher berücksichtigt werden sollte! Also eher nichts für gehobene Fotografen-Ansprüche. Ansonsten lassen sich schnell, ohne großen Aufwand gute Bilder Aufnehmen was für Unterwegs oder Anfänger genügen dürfte.
