Summary: I needed an olympus c50 to fit the underwater housing I already owned. I found one and bid and won it. When it arrived, i was immediately disapointed. The door slid open but slanted to the side. The door was very worn and did not activate the camera as it should have.
Summary: while i was happy with the picture quality, except for the abundance of red-eye in photos, i had a reocurring problem with the track of the cover chipping and causing the sliding lens cover to loosen and even come off.
Summary: This is a great little camera! Fits easily into a pocket or purse - I've carried it from desert to glacier and it has performed wonderfully. Terrific quality shots - just enough zoom - and very hard to damage when it is closed up.
Summary: A very powerful, versatile, and impressive little camera. For taking shots in conditions of plentiful light, this camera was hard to beat, at least when it came out (it's since been discontinued). When it hit the market, it was unquestionably the most powerful digital camera of its size.
Summary: I was looking for a camera with 5 megapixels because I wanted to be able to replace our 35 mm film camera. The ability to print film-quality 8x10s was a real allure. My wife wanted something small that we could carry with us all of the time.
Summary: I think this camera is definitely worth the money. It takes great pictures and has many many features. Its easy to use once you use it a few times, or read the manual. Battery lasts a while, takes great close ups too! Non blurry. Sometimes get the red eye but depends what setting you have it on.
Summary: pros: - 5MP resolution in a small, well-designed metal body. - allows a great deal of manual control. - good color reproduction. - higher than expected contrast from tonal balance. - low image noise with moderate shutter speeds. - spot metering.
Summary: I have owned four Olympus digital cameras and this is the best of the lot. I took my Olympus C-50 to Switzerland last spring and it performed beautifully. The battery held a charge far longer than I expected.
Summary: I bought this camera based on several reviews most notably Consumer Reports. Size good. Battery life good. 5 megapixels very good. My experience using the camera not good--too much red eye, weak zoom and not durable. My camera quit working after just 3 months. It jammed in the open position.
Summary: I bought a C-50 on the advice of a salesperson. I was looking for a C5050 and the store I was at didn't carry it, but he suggested that I give the C-50 a try, and that I could return it if I wasn't satisfied.
