Excerpt: another good old camera gets into my shelf! Many years ago i chose this camera as a present for a friend. recently he moved in another coutry, spent days emptying his room. one day he gave me the camera saying: "it was great but i never use it anymore since i have my smatphone, you like those old...
Summary: I needed an olympus c50 to fit the underwater housing I already owned. I found one and bid and won it. When it arrived, i was immediately disapointed. The door slid open but slanted to the side. The door was very worn and did not activate the camera as it should have.
Excerpt: I've had this camera for 4 years, and just now am I starting to look at the market to replace it. I LOVE THIS CAMERA! I've taken it around the world with me and have won several photography awards and had pictures published in travel magazines. My 1960's Nikon SLR is jealous I think...
Excerpt: after 2 years experience with the camera ... works well in good light conditions, tends to reddish in bright light, some colours of flowers (dark red, violett, blue) are not reproduced (same is also valid for my other Olympus Z70) Slow startup time is frustrating, especially with 500MB XD cards.
Excerpt: Averagely, I can tell this is a good camera. Easy to carry and use, good enough for fun / amateur. Problems: I had used it for two years, nothing really serious but the focus, even in auto mode it's just not focus.
Excerpt: Have used extensively under all conditions with good results Problems: One year after purchase track door broke and camera switched off when opened. Fixed under manufacturers warranty. This involved replacing front cabinet assembly Eight months later problem has occurred again.
Excerpt: I have owned this camera now for a year and I'm still very hapy about it. The pictures it produces are very detailed with a nice colour. What I sometimes miss is a autofocus assist lamp (infra red). In low light conditions autofocussing is not very easy.
Summary: while i was happy with the picture quality, except for the abundance of red-eye in photos, i had a reocurring problem with the track of the cover chipping and causing the sliding lens cover to loosen and even come off.
Summary: This is a great little camera! Fits easily into a pocket or purse - I've carried it from desert to glacier and it has performed wonderfully. Terrific quality shots - just enough zoom - and very hard to damage when it is closed up.
Summary: A very powerful, versatile, and impressive little camera. For taking shots in conditions of plentiful light, this camera was hard to beat, at least when it came out (it's since been discontinued). When it hit the market, it was unquestionably the most powerful digital camera of its size.
