Summary: I read several reviews before buying it about it getting water in it. I still bought it. I had it in my hand as I was swimming in a river. I climbed on to a rock to take some photos but every time I turned it on, it kept telling my battery door was open. It wasn't open. I triple checked. Not until I saw the water creeping into the screen that I knew it was too late.
Summary: I already have one and am pretty good with using it ; problem ? I have two harleys and one camera ..... so am always forgetting the camera. Solution find and purchase a 5 year old camera in good shape ....found one from Hawaii used once ?!?!?!?!?!? I know, but it's just as advertised , steal of the century , now each bike has a camera in its pouches........ Now to remember about keeping batteries charged ...........
Summary: I have used this camera on dozen of kayak-trips, dangling from its lanyard on my life-vest, since I bought it in 2008 and it has not shown any weaknesses. Never any issues with water-leakage or from rough care. I also find battery-life to be good. The reason I give it a four rather than a five is due to picture quality; due to pixels and a somewhat weaker lens than my Canon 11 I sometimes wish for more pixels. But for the price it is a good buy.
Summary: This is a camera I use for underwater photography. It can bu used without a housing to the depth of 33 feet. I also have dedicated housing that allows me to go much deeper. When the camera was new it cost 400 dollars, to have a backup for 1/4 that price enables me year's of underwater use. The only thing I don't like is the sd card that is dedicated olympus. To replace this camera it will cost me about 500.00 dollars. It is a ver good little camera.
Summary: I bought the camera with the hope that it would still have the ability to remain waterproof to some extent. I used it one day and it got wet, but I did not keep it submerged for long or go deeper then a couple of feet. The camera flooded and I had to dry it out and now know that I cannot rely on it being water proof at all. Since it was only $50 I cannot say that I can complain too much, but wish I had known before using it in the water.
