This camera has a 6.9cm/2.7" HyperCrystal II LCD which allows users to preview even in brilliant sunlight as well as at extreme angles (230,000 dots). The LED illuminator is designed to lighten up for underwater or macro sceneries. This 10.1 Megapixel camera also features Face Detection technology. The Face Detection technology enables in capturing perfectly focused and exposed faces and also helps in correcting exposure of other image areas. Digital image stabilization technology helps to prevent blurry images.

Olympus µ 1030 SW has ISO Sensitivity values of ISO 80 - 1600 Automatically selected (Auto) and ISO 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600(Manual). Olympus µ 1030 SW also features Shadow Adjustment Technology. This camera comes with 14.7MB of internal memory and allows users to shoot AVI format movies 640x480/320x240 at either 30 or 15fps with audio.
