Summary: Got this as a gift for my mom, who has a D40 but never uses it because it's too heavy. I told her about the Nikon 1 series, and she said, "I don't want to change lenses all the time; it's too much trouble". So I told her to leave the 30-110 on all the time.
Summary: I sold some of what was my older equipment to KEH when they were in town at my local camera shop. Also, on hand was a Nikon rep selling the Nikon 1 series at reduced cost at $400.00 with the 10-30mm kit lens. I got two of them. I also, got the handgrip by Fotodiox for each camera. Great add-on.
It was then that I realized why I love this camera so much

Summary: I was thinking about my old FM 10 35mm film camera when I looked over and saw my V1 sitting on my dresser. It was then that I realized why I love this camera so much. I've seen people complain that changing controls is slow and it can't bracket.
Summary: An older camera, but one that still gets the job done beautifully, This camera is great for all types of photography (just note the small sensor does not generate much Bokeh) and is arguably even better for video.
