See lessWe described the D80 as a photographer's camera and, despite the addition of video, the D90 appears to share that same ethos. On a purely specification level, it's a highly competitive piece of kit, but it's the way the features have been chosen and put together that make it the camera that it is. The D90 viewfinder is amongst the best you'll find on any APS-C camera and it sits above the highest-resolution screen we've yet seen on a camera of this class. The buttons are... Read more
The Nikon D90 is a feature-packed mid-range DSLR which inherits a number of aspects from the semi-pro D300, while adding some unique capabilities to deliver a highly compelling proposition. As the long-awaited successor to the popular D80, it brings that model bang up-to-date with the latest features and gadgetry. Nikon’s sensibly not messed too much with the excellent body, viewfinder and AF system of the earlier D80. These were already a cut above entry-level DSLRs,... Read more
There are two ways to look at the Nikon D90. It is either a Nikon mid-range DSLR or a DSLR with movie recording capability. The good news is that, whichever way we look at it, this is an excellent DSLR. Read more
When Nikon released the D90 DSLR, it promised a huge step towards the future of the mid-range digital photography with the release of a 12.3-megapixel camera that combined high image quality with options that would still appeal to beginners or simply curious creatives, such as live previews and (for the first time in a DSLR) HD video. Power is supplied to the D90 by Nikon’s standard EN-EL3e lithium-ion battery and yields up to approximately 850 shots on a charge (or any combination of flash, video, or other means of imaging). That's very long and a potential advantage for all-day photo shoots. The use of the MB-D80 battery pack allows for extended usage with an additional EN-EL3e or the use of six AA batteries for higher frame rates. It also balances out the feel of the camera for use with longer... Read more
I think most of us buying D90 would be someone like me. Goto review website for technical review and skip the rest. Read mine if you use it like I do. Here you go. Enjoy! I have a D50 and just bot a D90. I shoot primary my daughters' school events usually indoor in a gym or threater. I have some of Nikon better F2.8 glasses. With indoor lighting and action such as TKD. The results are sometimes less than satisfactory. When using flash, the subject is well lit but the... Read more or see product
I've owned this camera since Dec 08 and its been a pleasure using it daily. I own a D100 and D40 and D90 sure surpasses both cameras by leaps and bounds. With a high speed card and battery grip I can shoot in high speed and not worry about the memory buffer catching up to the card like I do with the D100 or D40. I have used a Sigma 55mm-300mm and Tamron 19mm-55mm lens with the D90 and auto focus was very fast and accurate not like the D100 and as you know only certain... Read more
I am a beginner, and bought this camera for the Caribean Trip. Though not familiar with all the functions, the quality of this machine is quite good, especially for taking photo for a person. I highly recommend Nikon D90. Read more
intuitive, pro quality. easy choice for a pro or entry level. I like it cause it uses my lenses and it grabs more at higher ISO settings. Was smashing at christmas in available light. Just wait til I introduce it to my tripod! Read more or see product
I bought this camera as a back up for my D3 and for my wife to use as she has just become interested in photography. It is an excellent camera that I find I am using more and more. The shutter noise is quiet compared to the D3 and of course it is also lightweight in comparison. The D90, whilst a complex camera is very easy to use. On many an occasion my wife has been able to change and alter things without having to refer to the manual. Battery life is very good, in fact... Read more
