Excerpt: Great, best digital I've owned. From fully automatic to full control. Light. I've spent $ dollars on a SLR digital and I like this 7100 better. No noise at high ISO, terrific features. The bottom line is great photos. I love all the features. I wish they would leave out the video.
Excerpt: I jumped from a D90 to the D5100. Major advantages are: much more accurate automatic functions for landscape, travel and wildlife shots. Just got back from Kenya. To my surprise the most useful function is allowing the camera to override my selected ISO. Switching from bright light to shots under trees occurred without sacrificing my shutter speed and f-stop selections. I allowed the camera to 'chose' ISO up to 4000 and I cannot see any additional noise. Amazing.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Iso Override
Excerpt: As a relatively new digital photographer and being absolutely new to video, I can say this camera is an incredible piece of equipment. I have problems with shaky hands and the photos do not reflect my shortcomings. The Nikon & B&H tutorial videos also really helped bring me up to speed on the camera.
Summary: Although its twice the cost of a D5100, I wish I had just gone into the D7100.
Pros: This camera has features galore. It feels balanced in the hand and built well. Focus is wicked fast. There is usually more than one way to adjust a setting. I upgraded from a D5100 and I can see there is going to be a learning curve for me. Money well spent.....
