Summary: This camera has met all that I had hoped for. I also have D3000 which will now be my backup. I have been an amature photo nut for over 52 years. This camera provides an amazing array of capabilities and to be able to use my older AF Nikon lenses was the driving facror. It is feature rich and I am sure I have not examined 60% them. Everytime I use it I find something I like.
Summary: I have a nikon d90 as a backup camera. This is the best nikon dx camera. The nikon d7000 is better in af,low light and video then my nikon d90. The color is so vivid when you shoot during the day and night of building. This is a great camera.
Summary: This is a great camera for someone wanting to advanced their skills. This is not a camera for someone new to photography. I would recommend a point and shoot or a lower end DSLR for someone who is just starting out, or doesn't know how to use the camera off Auto.
Summary: All I can really say is wow!!! Love mine and plan to buy another one for my photography business! I purchased mine after owning the D40 and needing to upgrade due to having outgrown the D40. I went to buy a D90 but they let me hold the D7000- the rest is history. I have not been disappointed at all after owning it for about 18 months now!
Summary: This camera does EVERYTHING! Love all of the features, some I may or may not need, but it is packed! Old pro getting back into photography. Still reading the manual, and I'm amazed at all this camera can do. Can't wait to try everything. Love Nikon! Thanks.
Summary: I got my camera last night and played with it for a few hours. It was 5 days from order to receipt even though I ordered on a Saturday and chose Super Saver Shipping. I am seriously in love with the camera. It looks spectacular at higher ISO's and is very fast. I videoed my son eating cereal for the second time and when i replayed the video my wife was amazed how good the sound and clarity of the video was.
Excerpt: I am very unhappy with my D7000...it broke 8 month out of warranty and Nikon USA wants $224 to fix it. Yes, I know it is our of warranty, but my first Nikon DSLR, the D40 broke after 11 month of use, and the D7000 failed after 20 month of use, so for me the failure rate on Nikon DSLR is 66% (only the D90 didn't break, but I hardly used it). And the camera was NEVER abused, never dropped and very lightly used.
Excerpt: The Nikon D7000 is a top of the line mid-range DSLR camera. With thirty-nine focal points and programing features to allow you complete control of your desired photographing climate this camera produces crisp and vivid photographs that are very pleasing to the eye. Along with a great focus this camera also has a five to seven click per second speed. Allowing you to capture every moment in the blink of an eye (literally).
Excerpt: I bought this dslr for dirt cheap new ended up selling it because I didnt need it. The pros of this camera is it has HD Video capability. The first time ever as lugging a huge dslr which all it could do was take photos. Im glad nikon stepped up their game and offered video recording. The only caveat with the video recording on this camera is that it records only in 720p which is good but not as good as 1080p.
