Summary: Okay, I've probably shot around two thousand shots with this camera so far. No dust or any sort of trouble so I don't understand why other people would have this problem again after the d610. It really sounds like people just don't care for their cameras. As dad as image quality goes it's top of the line. Highly recommended!
Excerpt: I have purchased the D-610 about 6 weeks ago and am very pleased with the all around quality. I replaced my D-700 with this camera and the photos are better than the D-700! No dust or oil spots as it appears fixed. I am extremely happy with this Nikon as I have been with all the Nikon photo equipment I have purchased over the years. My experience with Nikon has been A1 quality and extreme durability.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet, Tilt /Swivel LCD
Excerpt: Everything I need and non of the extras. 24 MP is more than enough and its full frame. The DR is great and the build is excellent. Its not a D700 body and doesnt have its AF. I wouldve prefer the AF of the D700 on this camera, but oh well. But enough with geek stuff...its a great camera. As for the oil and dust, no problem at all. I had a speck of dust on my prism and mirror, but nothing a cleaning can fix.
Summary: I bought this camera 15 months ago to replace my D600 that Nikon refunded my money on. I consider it the best value in Nikon FX. It has no vices, it is well built, the image quality is exactly the same as the much more expensive D750. The AF works fine, and it's frame coverage works great for me. I use this versatile workhorse for everything from my day to day casual shooting to serious astrophotography work. It just does it all.
Excerpt: I use this camera for portraits and events and it has worked flawlessly. The images are very sharp and the skin tone is spot on. The quality of the high ISO images is extremely good and even at 5000 ISO, the images are great.
Pros: Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I'm photo enthusiast who was looking for replacement for my old Nikon D50. I waited for the new d7200 and couldn't decide between it and D610, after reading the spec of new DX Nikon Flagship I found the D610 still great camera. The price is right and with all the extra stuff it's a steal.
Pros: Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: B&H photo did a great job of processing and shipping my order. This camera sounds like a wonderful camera and I am sure that it could be. BUT I recieved my camera a few months ago and with no visiable damage I started to try it out. For the last 4 months of ownership I have had to manually focus every single shot! (With a two yearold while traveling to places I may never get to go again ie Paris this is a challenge.
Pros: High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD, Quiet
Excerpt: I haven't gotten to use it much so I can't talk about image quality. I am a nikon user so this camera, for the money, would be a great buy if it focused properly. I guess i got a bad one but this makes 2/2 nikons with poor autofocus out of the box. When compared to the liveview focus the range finder AF is off. There is a function in the software called "AF FINE TUNE" and for two of my lenses I had to push it to the edge of its range to get my images closer to focus.
