Excerpt: Bought this as my second camera but as a first semi-professional SLR back in 2007/08 when I was 18. Still am using until now in university as a photography major and I still am finding how amazing this little guy is despite the lack of settings the D60 would have compared to a D90 and its newer siblings.
Summary: I am rating this item low. I dropped the camera, and the plastic (not metal) mount inside the lens broke. Remember the olden days or yore when the Nikon image was the indestructible nature of their products. Plastic part broke. OK. So I tried to get a replacement mount. Went on-line, and every store I found showed the part to be out of stock. Called Nikon. No part. But I can ship it to them for repair. Estimated cost $100-150. Plus the part. Plus shipping both ways.
Summary: OK Upfront I have wanted a digital DSLR. I have been a Nikon man with pride . I have used the brand and I am proud to show off my cache of lens and speedlites to my fellow photographers . I have said no Digital can come close to film for Clarity and crispness of the image .I have been snobbish about this . Well I had a chance to pick up a D60 for a great price no edit software or cables but the price was right for me to dive into this world .
awesome camera, but sometimes it refuses to take pictures!

Summary: I love this camera, and the 55-200mm lens is amazing and produces a narrow focus range just like I was looking for. It has a quick recovery time after each picture, BUT if the battery is low it will not let you take a picture at all. And sometimes (when the battery isn't low) it will not take a picture. I think it might be because the flash is too hot but idk! Kinda drives me nuts, and worries customers!
Excerpt: Purchasing my Nikon D60 is one of the best decisions I ever made and I got a really great deal at Costco on the D60, two lens, and a carrying case. The huge improvement in the quality of my photos has helped me to start an online photo business. The ease of using the auto or manual settings provides so many opportunities. I carry my Nikon D60 everywhere I go and love the portraits, landscapes and closeup shots I have captured. Nikon is synonymous with quality.
Our recently purchased Nikon D60 is the best purchse I've made.

Excerpt: My recent purchase of the Nikon D60 is the best investment I could of made for my little family. With our recent car accident the love of photography with this camera get my daughter wanting to get out there. Thus healing faster. We have no prior training and really haven't read the manual. Yet are able to take very professional quality images with ease. Thank You People at Nikon... Love it...
Excerpt: I've always wanted a great camera since I found that most photography places charge an arm and leg to have pictures taken. I got this and loved it! It's easy to use and you can do so much! Great first DSLR camera if you want one! Cons: The book is very big to read, so I have just been teaching myself. Price was pricey when I got it but has gone down a good bit! There also is No video, but I don't need it.
