Summary: I'm re-acquainting myself with an slr camera since before digital: that seemingly, and obviously marks me as not knowledgeable, and an artifact of what is not now. However, I am not a person that spends money with ease. When I buy a camera, it is with much homework and an effort to get not just what I want right now in a camera, but a tool that is a little beyond my current needs and will fulflll my needs beyond my present skillset.
Excerpt: I use this camera for my advanced photo students in a high school Commercial Photo class. The students quickly figure out the differences between it and the Nikon D3000-3200's causing a high demand for the D5200. It has a higher frame per second rate that is great for getting action shots. Its Bracketing features and higher ISO settings help with indoor lower light images which dominate our rainy winter days in the Northwest.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast/accurate auto-focus, Good Image Quality, Good in Low Light
GREAT deal for the money, especially for the non-pros who want to learn

Summary: All accesories are generic, which isn't a problem if you are not super obsessive for having everything branded. It came with extra generic batteries and chargers, additional to the original ones that came with the camera. I recommend this kit for people who want to take nice photos but are not professionals and are trying to learn how everything works. Everything comes with a label and an instructional video to help you make the most out of this package.
Summary: I am new to DSLR's. I have been playing with this camera for a couple of weeks and love it. I really like the movable LCD display. It has enough features to keep me busy learning them all. I plan on taking a class at the local CC to learn more.
Summary: This Nikon D5200 is a great camera for beginners in photography or for hobbyist as well. The only con I found was the 18-55mm lens did not come with a rear lens cap. The only reason I can think why this happened is if someone got the standard kit they expect the person that bought the camera to leave it on it all the times.
Excerpt: I mostly shoot portraits and i went from a D3100 to this. The ISO options are soooo much better, i have less noise at higher ISO, but still a bit too much for my liking. I had the D3100 for two years, and just got this one a year ago. I am very pleased with the results, though i will likely upgrade again to something far less noisy in about a year or two. Overall great product.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Large Clear LCD, Tilt /Swivel LCD
