Summary: This is my first SLR camera and also my first Nikon. I know nothing about photography beyond what I read in tutorials and guides. Of course, reading about photography won't make anyone good at it. I shot some good pictures in the past using a Panasonic point and shoot, but I gave the camera away as it was just sitting around. Recently, I received a gift card and I thought I should buy a decent SLR, and take up this hobby again.
Summary: bought my refurbished, looks brand new..had 4500 actuation/shutter count on it when I got it.. Takes stunning photos in all modes. Simple to use as a point and shoot (get great results)..very nice low light shots with ease and handheld (no tripod needed for what I need it for).. has full manual control with the typical scene modes, aperature/shutter priority and Program mode. The menu system is very intuitive and the screen is crystal clear.
Summary: Bought this at a great price. Nikon was clearing inventory in an advance of the D5200. It has a lot of features I don't expect to use but that's what you have to accept to get the ones one wants. I was deciding between this and the D3200. The key features this had but were lacking on the D3200 were AEB and the movasble LCD screen which lets me avoid "belly photography" in some circumstances. It is an upgrade to my D60.
Summary: My wife and I shoot a local short track asphalt racing. We had purchased a Nikon D7000 and needed another camera but couldn't quite swing the cost of another. After researching we found that the D5100 shared a lot of the same features as the D7000 at a considerable savings. While the D7000 does have a few advantages of the D5100, for the money we feel like we made a good decision.
for the money, this is probably best bang for the buck

Summary: I'm a long time (over 8 years) Nikon DSLR user, primarily using pro and semi-pro bodies. My main body now is the D3s. So, when I bought the d5100, I was ready to be disappointed. Well, I've had the camera for a couple of months now and I must say that the little camera is a keeper. The images that it can produce are about as good as one could ask for, assuming that the photographer does his part.
Summary: This camera is way smarter than we are! When we ran into a problem operating one of the accessory pieces, Cameta's technician Rich patiently walked us through it. Wish they were right down the street, but the next best thing is phone or email....
Summary: This is a excellent camera. A perfect DSLR for a beginner or a advanced photographer. Has too many features to name here. Plus I shopped around before making this purchase a this bundle was the best deal I came across by far.
Summary: MY SISTER BOUGHT THIS CAMERA FOR HER SON TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHY IN SCHOOL AND THE PRICE OF THE CAMERA WAS EXCELLENT PLUS THE CARRYING CASE YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICE OF THE PACKAGE SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FROM GTC&ASSOCIATES.INC.HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ALL THE BEST IN 2013
