Summary: So far I find this camera easy to use. I still have lots to learn about the manual functions, but the pictures are coming out great! Focus Camera delivered the product very quickly and well packed to protect it. I am very happy with this purchase.
Summary: Time of use at review - Months (ish) PROs - Bigger and better than anything I've used to date (coming from the D40 and D70)... too many features to list, my suggestion is to go to Nikon's site or read the review of people who know what they're talking about, I'll be busy out shooting this camera!! CONs - Doesn't fly?
Summary: This is my first DSLR camera. I debated between Nikon D5100 and Canon T3i for a long time, and settled on Nikon because of the way it fits in my hand. It's been a great camera that allows me to do everything I want to try out as a beginner, and I imagine I'll be happy using this for a few years. In addition to the lenses that came with this kit (18-55mm and 55-200mm), I purchased Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.8G, and I've been happy with the results.
Excerpt: I purchased two d5100 form cameta within 2 months. Unfortunately the first one was stolen from my apartment. I decided to buy another one since it is till best dslr value for your money right now. This time I purchased body only since i didn't care for the kit lens. Instead I decided on prime lens 50mm 1.8g. Picture quality with this setup is amazing. Eventually I would like to upgrade to d7000, but for now I'm happy. Great service from cameta. Thank YOU!
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, High ISO Performance
