Excerpt: I’m not going to compare Canon to Nikon to Fuji, etc b/c brand names, in my experience, have to do with user preference and price one is willing to spend. Canon, today, is more expensive then Nikon; canon makes GREAT bodies but I find that Nikon optics are highly …
Summary: The flash didn't work. This should have been expressly stated. It also didn't come with any battery, which is ok, since it was a "body only" but I was expecting a camera that was testable out of the box... again, I feel that a responsible seller would have expressly stated such things.
Bottom line, if you're a new photographer, this would be a good camera.

Summary: Starting with the back... The screen is so small it's basically useless to check photo's after taking a picture. It works for changing settings, but that's about it. The controls are easy to use and in convenient locations except for the ISO. Grip is pretty big, so it's easy to hold, but can get heavy. Yes, this camera is outdated, but with a nice lens, it takes superb pictures. If you can find one in good shape for under $200 with a lens, jump on it.
Summary: I had a Nikon D50 for many years until I flat wore it out. I bought a new Nikon D3100 which I did not like at all after using the D50 for so many years. I returned the D3100 camera and got my money back, then searched until I found a used D50. Now I am happy again!!!
Summary: I needed a new D50 body b/c mine wasn't working right any more and I did not want to pay a bunch of money to repair an entry-level camera. I considered several I found on ebay, craigslist etc. before going with this vendor. What sold me was the warranty. There are so many people trying to sell you a camera with something wrong and I didn't want to take the chance. I gave it 4 stars b/c it was still more than I really wanted to pay.
