Simply Amazing - A World-Class Pro Tool

JPHyde, B&H Photo
  • Excerpt: I'm a commercial photographer - which means from day-to-day the scope and focus of my work can change drastically. I can shoot product shots one day, be the EPK (behind the scenes) photographer on a movie or TV set the next, and follow that with shots inside the operating room at a hospital.
  • Pros: autofocus system, Ergonomics, Image Quality, Metering System, Program Options, Reliability, Speed - 11fps
  • Cons: Eyecup Options, Lacks Bottom Strap Loop

Better than the D4? Definitely!

Peter, Amazon
19 April 2015
  • Summary: I upgraded to two of these from two Nikon D4 bodies. Before getting one of these, I wasn't sure if it would make a difference, but after getting one D4s, I was sold. The AF is slightly quicker and accurate, the ISO maybe 1/3rd-1/2th stop better, the response time felt just a tiny bit faster as well.

A Great Camera for Action Photography

Happy Flyfishers, B&H Photo
22 January 2015
  • Excerpt: I bought this camera to use when I take photos at horse shows ... Reining events, in particular. In these events, the rider is dressed western style (cowboy hat, fancy shirt, etc.) and the horse/rider perform abstracted cow handling maneuvers. It is often said to be the Western version of Dressage.
  • Pros: Good Autofocus Speed, Good high ISO performance, High burst rate, Solidly Built

Top of the pile

Torchman310, B&H Photo
19 December 2014
  • Excerpt: The question is: "What can't this camera do" when it comes to photography? I use this camera mainly for Nature, Landscapes, Sunsets and the like. Sometimes animals will stand still for only a second, or that Military plane is too fast, but they can still be photographed.
  • Pros: Different Metering Option, Exact Metering, Expanded Burst Speeds, Plenty Of Burst Speeds, Super Iso Speeds, Super I S O Speeds, Time Lapse
  • Cons: Quite heavy, very expensive

All they say it is.

Michael, B&H Photo
7 December 2014
  • Excerpt: Great photos in any situation. Shutter lag is slight annoyance. Maybe I have yet to figure out how to override it. I still keep the D3 to deal with such situations.
  • Pros: Great Photos, Low Light Capability, Sturdy, Superb Ergonomics
  • Cons: Quiet Mode A Bit Clumsy, SLIGHT shutter lag

rediculous.

the PRETTY!!!, B&H Photo
1 December 2014
  • Excerpt: I upgraded from a D700 and this thing is just stupid (in a good way). When I wield this beast with my 24 1.4, I feel like it can conquer any type of low light situation. The sensor captures a breathtaking amount of detail reguardless of how dimly lit your environment may be.
  • Pros: Amazing Low Light Detail, Awsome Fps And Buffer, Tack Sharp Af Performance, Terminator-like Build
  • Cons: Price, SIZE
