The Nikon D400 is one of the next DSLR cameras set to be released by Nikon. It is rumoured to have a Magnesium alloy body with connections and buttons that are sealed against moisture.

Features

Among some of the Nikon D400 rumoured features that were sent anonymously to NikonRumours.com include new 14.8 mega pixel DX format with CMOS sensor and an effective 14.3 mega pixels. It also has a self-cleaning sensor unit with low-pass filter vibration. The Nikon D400 will have an ISO of 100 – 6400, that can be boosted up to ISO 25600 and turned down to ISO 50. It will also feature 14-bit conversion. Not only that, the Nikon D400 will be able to record movies at up to 1080p 24 fps with stereo sound. The Nikon D400 will also incorporate a Nikon EXPEED Plus image processor that is 30% faster than previous EXPEED image processors. In addition to that, it will also incorporate a Kevlar/ carbon fibre composite shutter with 200,000 exposure durability. The Nikon D400 will also have a Multi-CAM3500DX Auto Focus sensor with 51-point, 15 cross-type and more vertical coverage. In terms of auto focus, the Nikon D400 will be able to track by colour using information from a 1005-pixel AE sensor, as well as auto-focus calibration or fine tuning. There will also be in-camera vignetting control as well as automatic chromatic aberration correction. The custom image parameters are also rumoured to be able to support brightness as well as contrast. The Nikon D400 will also be able to perform continuous shooting at seven frames per second. There will also be a 3 inch LCD monitor with a resolution of 922000 pixels. Not only that, it will also have a Live View function with either phase detect (mirror up/ down) or contrast-detect AF and face detection.
