Summary: This is a great camera, my issue is it came with a spot on the sensor that I just can't get rid of. From some reviews, it seems when they assemble them some get a oil residue on them that cannot be removed.
Summary: Even two years after it's release, this camera stands the test of time. It's a solid workhorse with fantastic low light image quality that feels and sounds as a pro camera should! Until... You have any issues with it and then it's all down hill if you are out of the warranty period. This was one of the first cameras released so maybe that's the the issue with my body. In any event, here's my story.
Excerpt: I thought that buying a Nikon Refurb was the best deal in town in that they are supposed to be more closely inspected to work properly. Well that wasn't the case for me this time around. The refurbished D4 I received had the dreaded blinking "Err" message in the LCD screen that would not go away. Nothing worked - shutter, live view, etc were all inoperable.
Summary: If I could rate it as 0, I would do that. The product has defect. Right after the 30 days (within which I could return), the D4 is starting to give me some black pictures randomly. It seems like it will reset the settings randomly. I have contacted Amazon about this issue. They told me there is nothing they could do excepting giving me Nikon's phone number. Then I contacted Nikon. They ask me to submit the issue online. Then no answers till now.
