Excerpt: I got this camera a week ago and have been settling into using it. This is a good value for the money. The camera came in a labeled refurbished box with all software and accessories. The lens was in perfect condition. The camera body was in good condition. There was some wear on the rear lcd screen. The firmware was on the latest version. The card reader door is a bit noisy and clacks. I do not know if this is due to wear or fit and finish. It is not a huge detractor.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality
Excerpt: If you're concerned about buying Nikon refurbished, I say you should take the chance. The camera I received could have been new, except for the packaging.I spent an hour with the D3100 and the kit lens, and was a little underwhelmed with the ISO performance. I was also frustrated with the lack of a top LCD and front control dial. Using this camera with a 35mm 1.8g lens was enjoyable, but I'd already decided it wasn't the camera for me.It's a small camera, and light.
Summary: We have only had this camera for a few weeks but it is exactly what we were looking for. Have yet to learn what most of the settings are for but the pictures are stunning. I like being able to zoom in on a shot and see if this is the picture you want right on the camera.
Excerpt: I purchased a refurbished unit, took two pictures of my dog to "test" it, and then got an error that the shutter wasn't functioning. After talking to a very helpful representative from Adorama, they suggested I get a used unit instead, which I did, and I haven't had any issues with it. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the return process went very smoothly.
