  • Summary: I got my first DSLR a few days back. It is a Nikon 3100D. Its an awesome camera in a descent budget. I got some photographer friends with this cam, and the results are amazing. But I think the price in flipkart is a little higher than local stores.

  • Excerpt: I brought this camera knowing nothing about taking pictures. I think I have only ever owned one other camera in my life and that was about 15 years ago. The guide modes on the camera teach you most things you need to know and the picures you can start to take fairly quickly are great.
  • Pros: ease of use
  • Cons: No auto focus motor built into the camera so limits the type of lenses avaiable .

  • Summary: I haven't really had the time to try all the features and feel it would be beneficial to find classes that would teach me hands on rather than trying to work my way through a users manual that is often difficult to understand. I love the feel of the camera and the clarity of the images it produces.

  • Summary: Very easy to use. The guide is also a good teaching tool. Have used it to shoot both hi-speed ie Pacific gulls in flight along with portraits. Good entry level DSLR. You might want to buy the 18 - 105mm lense to add to your kit along with a speedlight flash.
