7 June 2011
Summary: I am a retired press photographer and bought the Nikon D3100 to photograph my Nieces wedding. Although I have been using a Nikon D70 for a number of years, I have found the advances made in the D3100 quite incredible, the image quality produced by the 14.2mp sensor produces rich colour with...
Overall for the money, a very good entry level SLR

Summary: This was ordered several months ago, and rather than rush in, we waited several months before posting a review, so we could get a true impression of the camera and its use. This is a budget DSLR, and as someone who is used to a higher priced kit, and from a competing brand, I wasn't unsure what to...
Summary: Well after days of research on Internet and stores, I finally ordered Nikon D3100 and I am pleased with my purchase. It takes amazing photographs, My aim was to get a body and standard kit under £500 so that I can spend extra money on lenses.

Summary: I've been a pro photographer for very many years (over 40) and very much love digital cameras which perform far better than the old 35mm film cameras. I've owned a few Nikon digital cameras; D50, D80, D300S, D5100 and currently a D3100.

Summary: This is a very good camera and is being offered at some impressively low prices. The picture quality is far better than compact cameras, so if you're moving up from a snapshot camera you will be seriously impressed. However, the newer D3200 has even better picture quality.
Summary: I wanted a lightweight camera body that I could pop a small lens on and carry around on casual days out without being encumbered with equipment and was impressed by various reviews of the D3100 so I took the plunge and bought one.
Summary: This camera has only been available in the UK for a week and in that time I've owned the camera Nikon have confirmed to me directly that the awful AF-F "live view" mode constantly hunting and jerking around the focus is what they expect.
