Undoubtedly the best entry-level DSLR money can buy

Tom, Melbourne, Teds
6 February 2014
  • Summary: I bought this simply because I didn't want to take my more-expensive camera with on my travels. I'm absolutely astounded at the quality and ease of use of this camera, for such a tiny price. You could pay so much more for so much less. If you're wanting a reliable, entry level DSLR, you can't do better than this. I would recommend this to anyone starting out.

A good starters camera

Giulio, Sydney, Teds
6 February 2014
  • Summary: The Nikon was recommended to me, independently, over other cameras. It's not hard to use, spend about an hour reading the user manual, and test out the different configurations for shutter speed and aperture, as well as Area focus modes and you can competently shoot any conditions. The defining test for any camera is how it handles poor light, or strong background light conditions as well as auto-focus shutter reaction speed. The Nikon D3100 handles this well.

Lovely camera

Kristen Proudfoot, Gunning NSW, Teds
6 February 2014
  • Summary: So far this camera has proved easy to use, though I haven't graduated from Automatic yet, as we have been busy over Christmas/New year. The brief guide is good; I haven't broached the larger book guide yet. Have got good shots of people at big family celebration, and also nice shots of visiting grandchildren after Christmas. The camera is quite light for its size.
  • Pros: Easy to use, Screen size
  • Cons: Bulky
