Summary: My wife was borrowing my D300 when I bought a D7100. So many buttons that I wanted something easier to use. My brother is a novice and he got one and loves it, learns fast and his shots come out good. My wife has played with it and took some shots but has not really got into it yet.
Summary: So far this is working good. Still not a pro but if i have enough tome to set it up i usually end up taking good picture. Definitely not a point and shoot kinda thing but it gets the right shot when configured correctly.
Summary: nice quality camera. easy to use. a professional photographer said to me, "D3100? nice choice" which made me extra happy with my purchase. lots of features i don't understand though...a class would be useful
Summary: Hello there! I'm Chandler, fourteen, and an amateur photographer. I got this as my first camera back in January and the camera itself is FANTASTIC. I bought it used in perfectly good condition, it just needed cleaned and the buttons had a little wear.
Summary: I bought this camera to take better pictures of my son on the soccer field. For that, I would give 10 stars. The bigger lens (55-200 mm) is great for sitting in the stands or at the end of the field and capturing individuals on the field while still capturing bigger field shots as well.
