A Dad, Adorama

  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Manual features
  • Cons: Short Battery Life

  • Conclusion: This camera is very affordable and produces high quality photographs. I love using it for portraiture and up-close shots of plants and wildlife. To enhance my photos even more, I plan to purchase a few attachments...hood, lens filters, macro lens, fish-eye lens, larger flash etc. But overall, it's definitely a great camera for the casual photographer, as well as photo enthusiasts!

  • Summary: Camera is working well, just started with it, have to reset White Balance to get better cloud photos. Would rather have found a Body Only retail possibility, and one camera source, that had a lower advertised price, had gone out of business. The Nikor lens is just basic 18-55MM, does allow keeping a lens on both of my Nikon cameras, that's a good thing!

First time DSLR buyer.

THockensmith, Amazon
21 April 2011
  • Summary: This is my first time buying a Digital SLR. I have mainly used point and shoot cameras in the past and have always had fun taking pictures. I wanted to start digital photography as a hobby so I decided to buy a nicer camera. After reading many reviews and comparisons I decided on this camera as it is the update to the Nikon D3000 that a friend of mine has. They love their camera so I figured this was a good choice.
