Excerpt: I have this D3100 and D80. Keep 24-120VR on 3100 and 70-300 VR on D80. Love the 3 inch monitor with view capabilities. Easy to go from single to continuous shooting. Well placed controls. Think 5100 will be next. Anxious for Nikon to make battery grip for easier griping.
Conclusion: This camera is user friendly and is a great camera for someone who loves to take photographs. My husband who does part-time professional photography work has even taken my camera along for jobs and loved what he was able to get out of it. It's a steal for the money and I highly recommend it.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance
Excerpt: Have only had this camera a week so still learning what all it's capable of doing. The automatic features are pretty easy to understand and operate. Camera has trouble autofocusing sometimes when taking pictures using LCD screen and pictures come out fuzzy.
Summary: I am very happy with the camera, I could have not got a better product for my introduction to Digital photography and I have only been improving and taking better photos everytime. The rest of the articles are not very useful, except for a couple of lens and filters.
Excerpt: this camera is fine, but I am interested in doing astrophotography and all the other astronomers have Canons and they are unable to answer my questions as I am just learning. So having a NIkkon leaves me in the learch as I am trying to learn the specifics of astrophotography.
