Excerpt: Awesome camera... Received the refurbished model and although everything worked there was a crack on bottom and LCD screen... Return process easy... Hoping the replacement refurbished camera will be in the as new condition they described before I purchased... Camera awesome... Highly recommend...
Summary: This is my first foray into digital photography. The D3100 is fascinating in its ability to go from point and shoot photography into the world of professional photo shooting. Even with the limited use I've had so far I've learned a lot about photography in general and how to use the more sophisticated capabilities of this camera. I would definintely recommend purchasing a 55 - 200m zoom lense for the camera for taking long shots.
Excerpt: Good: A compact, light DSLR good for starter. Beginners will find all the features adequate for their day to day usage. Good Price point right now since Nikon D3200 has come out in 2012.

Could be Better:
1. LCD Resolution could be better. D3100 have a worse screen than many of the Point and Shoot camera out there. Some of the worst screen. But again we don't view pics on camera, we view most of them on computer.
2. No Autofocus on AF lens.
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Stabilization, Small easy to carry, Very Light
Cons: Lag / Shutter Delay, Noisy At High ISO, Poor LCD Resolution

Summary: I own 2 Nikon D-3100 cameras. I have used them extensively most of the time for still pictures, but also have done some incredible videos with its great capabilities. I haven't had problems with any one of them and life expectancy as far as now, is great. From this camera, I will junp straight to the D-800, the reason: from DX to FX format, as my work becomes better and better day by day and my income grows little by little.
Summary: Almost everytime i am going outside i always get the urge to take along my D3100 with me because you never know when you get that perfect shot. The video and still images you see upfront with the D3100 is shocking and you seem to fall in love with this camera and never get bored especially with all the features you have to explore.Good job Nikon...PS I NEED TO ENHANCE MY LIMITED CAMERA SKILLS BY JOINING A PHOTO CLASS TO IMPROVE MY HOBBIE.
Excerpt: My husband bought me the Nikon D3100 Digital Camera as a Christmas present because I love to take pictures. I have two small children and have wanted a really nice camera for a long time to photograph my family and friends. My husband found Cameta Camera while looking for my Christmas present. We were unsure at first because you never know when you purchase out of state if you are going to be sorry for doing so.
