Excerpt: My sister has this Camera, the nikon D3100, and i had the pleasure of using it during the Thanksgiving holiday. MMMMM turkey. The camera controls are super easy to use even for the novice, like me, and are close enough to the controls on my Canon, i could figure them out no problem. This camera takes super sharp, well , tack sharp pictures, with the kit lens.
Excerpt: After having a Nikon D3000 for just over a year when it started giving me problems, I decided rather than replacing it, I'd "upgrade" to the Nikon D3100. Although I prefer the setup of the controls, and the HD video option is a plus, I don't know if the new features are worth the extra money. As an amateur photographer who mostly enjoys taking pictures of my kids, I was probably just as happy with my old D3000 as I am with the new D3100.
Summary: My wife loves her camera. We had an older version of it from several years ago. It was lost at a park, so I bought her a new one for our anniversary. This kit comes with it all... The only thing it could come with as a kit that would make it even better is an option for a lighting kit and / or a protective case for the camera. Good product, good delivery experience. Thumbs up.
Summary: This kit is awesome and comes with just about everything you need. The camera takes awesome pictures and if you purchase the Nikon D3100 book along with this, you'll be in even better shape. Once you have the book you can understand how to use the camera to its abilities. I would recommend this to just about everyone.
Summary: So far I've only been able to play with my new camera a few times, but so far I am very happy. The camera and kit lenses arrived as advertised, with all of the features that are so highly rated for this items, such as the helpful Guide mode on the camera and the vibration reduction feature on the lenses. The features and controls are a little different than the other Nikon I'm used to, and that's taking some getting used to. The photos are great.
Excerpt: I primarily use this for shooting photos of my artwork. I love it for it's quality and depth of color - not garish, just good. Since my main focus (excuse the pun) is art rather than photography, I really appreciate it's ability to adjust to any shooting condition I give it, and come up with something i can use.

My only problem with it so far is that it stopped working for about 10 minutes during a 4-hour shooting session (after about 200 shots).
Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Good Image Quality, Lightweight low price, Quiet
Summary: I am very pleased with my new Nikon D3100. It came exactly as advertised, and although I am a novice photographer, I enjoy learning new things daily. I feel that this camera is very user-friendly and is the perfect entry-level DSLR. My pictures have improved so much already!
