I'm not a Nikon fan. But when i held the Nikon D3100 and Canon 1100D for my first DSLR, I was immediately locked to the Nikon! Easier to use controls, WAY BETTER build than Canon's and looks more expensive than the 1100D!

The Nikon D3100 is the first DSLR camera from Nikon that can film 1080p videos. It can record videos at 24 frames per second. It features a 14.2-megapixel CMOS sensor. It also has a 3-inch rear LCD. It comes with an ISO range of 100-3200 up to 12800 that is larger than featured on the D3000. It features an HDMI output to enable users to watch the videos they filmed on TV. The D3100 DSLR comes with the Nikon EXPEED 2 image processing engine. This Nikon DSLR camera comes with Guide Mode that enables users to test the photos they can take first with several settings. It features Live View with Scene Auto Selector that allows users to the right mode to match the shooting situation. It also has Scene Recognition to help take shots even better.
