Look up problems with the D300

Adorama
31 July 2011
  • Excerpt: I would not recommend buying this product refurbished. I use this item for a week and it went dead as if it had no battery. I looked up forums on the internet and found this was a common problem. I went past the aloted time for a refund but after reading the reviews I decided to go with the D7000. It has been great and I love the results.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Large Clear LCD, Quiet

Non-events happen!

JackRack, Adorama
24 July 2011
  • Excerpt: I gave it three stars because one must fill in that blank when reviewing. I don't have enough experience to rate this camera at all. By reputation it is an extraordinary piece of gear and I wanted it to compliment my full framed D700. I have tried "Refurbished by Factory" gear before with resounding success. I intended to use it for sports, rugged outdoors and general grandchildren type photo's.
  • Pros: Easy To Use, Fast / Accurate Auto-Focus, Fast Shutter Speed, Good Image Quality, Good Image Stabilization, High ISO Performance, Large Clear LCD

Handy Chart, expensive, poorly implemented

A. S. Donnelly, Amazon
15 December 2008
  • Summary: This is a handy "cheat sheet" chart, but as others have mentioned it could have been better implemented. Mine began to separate at the seams. It is pricey for what it is. Nothing in the materials, construction or "workmanship" warrants the price charged. I have since come to much prefer the Thom Hogan e-Books, which include a which include a "To Go" book and a smaller laminated card of my own construction.

I will come back to this review.

Ned Middleton, Amazon
3 September 2008
  • Summary: It would appear that nobody is producing tutorial DVDs about Nikon cameras in the UK - hence my having purchased a number of products similar to this one from the USA. The person wishing to learn about the Nikon D300 camera is either someone who already knows about digital cameras and is moving across to the Nikon D300 or is someone who has chosen this camera as their first digital camera.

Not bad if you need such a reference

Redneck, Amazon
20 August 2008
  • Summary: This little fold out is not a bad item to have in your camera case for new D300 camera owners. I can't say I've ever used mine on a shoot, but it's there just in case. Good quality construction, color-coded subject organization, it should last fairly well through normal lite usage. If you need to refer to this all the time, you should really take the time to learn your camera. I highly recommend David Busch's Nikon D300 Guide to Digital SLR Photography for that purpose.

Nikon D-300 first photos for vacation to Alaska came out goo-to-poor on 18-200mm

John Smith "JS", Amazon
3 August 2008
  • Summary: Bought this D300 with 18-200mm package based on the all reviews here for Alaska vacation just week before we left. Pictures came out good to poor and wildlife/landscape pictures came out very soft to soft at 200mm. Lens is not sharp as lot of pics shot wide angle 18mm and telephoto 200mm are soft. Disappointed. Also, lack of experience with Nikon D300 may have hurt me.

Great in it's day, but now outdated and overpriced compared to the D7000.

fudpuka, Ebay
25 January 2012
  • Summary: I own one of these and also a D7000. Before that, a D90. Pics from the D90 and D300 were hard to tell apart until ISO's were up over 1000 then the D300 had a about a 1 stop advantage. The D7000 eats both the D90 and D300 in every respect. Image quality... Hi ISO handling..... image quality..... colour..... image quality..... features..... image quality..... battery life etc. And did I mention image quality?

En la D-60 igual

Sergi, quesabesde.com
26 January 2009
