Good Old Nikon 2004 Vintage Tank of a Camera

lncdgong, Ebay
1 May 2014
  • Summary: Excellent camera and is a still good for use in 2014. The one lacking feature is the small viewfinder. Hard to check quality of images on small viewfinder. Built like a tank, in this case, an older tank. Love the crop feature that increases the shutter speed to 8FPS. Good for use with older Nikkor AF lenses that will not work on the current 3000 and 5000 series cameras. ISO perfomance is somewhat limited by today's standards.

Worth every single penny!

  • Summary: Bought this fella in 2014, The first thing I have to say is... Outstanding performance! I didn't expect much since the D2x is about 10 years old already. It is way better than my Nikon D5000 that I bought in 2009-even the D2x felt like going back in time, it is a HUGE upgrade from the D5000. Fast and accurate autofocus.

This camera is an amazing hunk of technological marvelousness!

nitenrg, Ebay

  • Summary: This camera is an amazing hunk of technological marvelousness. And it's a lot of fun too. Pick one up and slip on a good lens and enjoy it. There's a lot of life left in this camera and the creative possibilities are endless. I've been using a D300 for several years and still do. Yet I find when shooting with the D2x I pay a lot more attention to what really matters in photography - composition, exposure, subject, etc.

I feel good every time I use this camera.

  • Summary: The Nikon D2X is a professional camera that offers great picture quality and structural build that is better than all but other profession cameras such as the D3 or D4. It is true that it does not have all the latest features such as video and exceptional low light performance, Video wasn't that important to me. Better light sensitivity would be nice, but not that important to me either.

  • Summary: Solid professional camera, easy to use, fast to shoot. For it's size, it's quite surprising how light it is!

  • Summary: Arrived extremely well packaged. Love, love this camera and that it is in excellent, like new condition. This may be older technology but it is stellar even next to my D300.

Nikon D2X first impressions.

MetalMariachi, Amazon
5 June 2013
  • Summary: I was looking for a digital camera that would accept and work with all the great Nikon lenses I've accumulated over the past 40 years. I've used film in environments ranging from 120 deg. F and 95% humidity to -30 deg. F in, sandstorms, monsoons and from sea-level to 17,000 ft. I wanted a digital that would hold up like my F3 and F4 did. After reading hour upon hour of reviews and tests I boiled it down to what do I need vs. features that while very neat I may never use.

  • Summary: This is a great camera and a great eBay buy for me. I'm nearly retired, but I wanted a pro Nikon digital camera to take along with my pro Nikon F4s and F5 film cameras during my post-retirement travels. I've used Nikon for over 23 years - 14 of those years professionally. As a photojournalist for a local newspaper, I was introduced to Nikon digital using the D1.

An excellent pro camera...

  • Summary: I had three D1X before D2X... battery life of the D1Xs was terrible, although I loved the results coming out of them, I couldn't trust for my sessions trusting the batteries... which. I also purchased brand new. My purchase from Amazon was as always, very easy and quick. Camera I received was much better than I ever thought for the price... very well maintained, and only 25K original shutter count.
