  • Summary: All features worked as required; enjoying it along with my old Nikon D1 that I bought new in 1998 for $5000.

Awesome find with late Serials. Great starter in Nikon Digital.

  • Summary: I bought my first Nikon D1 here on Ebay in late 2003. After a few years, internal issues had me looking for it's replacement. Of course the D2's were out and the D3 had just come along, but I had heavily invested in the D1 family and went looking a a D1x to replace my dying D1. Other than some control and setting differences, I readily adjusted to my D1x and kept right on going.

The D1x is a great camera at a great price. NiMH Batteries can be modified!

  • Summary: The D1x is an outstanding camera. The camera has been around for over a decade but that in no way diminishes its quality. Anyone interested in a professional digital camera at a bargain price should look at the D1x and D1h. The only real drawback that this camera has is it's abysmally poor batteries that drain overnight when not in use.

Quite a camera for a steal of a price.

  • Summary: What a bargain to get a camera of such quality and features for so little. A little heavy but I actually like the weight in my hands. The batteries are a little outdated and have a rather short life compared to todays standards but get an AC adapter for studio shots and you are fine.

Excellent camera, even now...

Leo Koach, Amazon

  • Summary: I just bought this camera from our studio, which we had 15 of them, most of them are not working due to usage condition over the years. From Amazon I ordered Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens and battery for it. However, I did try D1x with studio's 50mm 1.8 and works perfectly. I have Canon 40D, before that I had Canon 30D and before that I had Canon 350D and none of them can produce pictures that good and sharp. Colors are amazing, focusing is very fast and on the spot.

Old tech's at a Super Buy!

ernest1373, Ebay

  • Summary: Amazing camera! Since I do a lot of Coreal Painter post- processing, the megapixels are more than enough. With that said, the seller recommended shooting RAW for the best results. Well I can safely say that he was right on. My Epson 1400 printer produced sharp 13x19's. You won't go wrong if you buy one!

Great Camera

  • Summary: When I received this camera it surprised me it's solid, fast AF, good pictures even though it's old but Nikon make great cameras. This camera is great for portrait and studio work, I wouldn't recommend it for outside because of the weight.

Photo quality still one of the best

p.t.man, Ebay
22 January 2011
  • Summary: This camera is 10yrs. old and the photo quality from it is still as good as many of todays cameras at below 800 iso. Photos above that are still decent using noise reduction software. Batteries for this camera have always gotten a bad rap but if conditioned properly, you can still get 3 or 400 shots from one. The D1x is a classic and a bargain at todays prices.
